Come walk into a warehouse that has been transformed into a new universe. Travel to the ends and back in an industrial building.
This is the plan for this installation pop-up show in Boston this upcoming summer. The creators are Marissa Goldman (RISD) and Zuzia Weyman (Hampshire College). We are anticipating a large gathering so we need the money to make this possible!
Why we need you:
This money is for the supplies we need to pay for to build the space and what we need to make the attendees happy. For most supplies (other than electronics and paints and art stuff) we are going try to recycle as much as possible. Many of the large objects you will see in the show have been transformed from recycled objects.
The show will be publicized by sort of small shows. There will be stunts and small installations around town to advertise it. This requires a sufficient amount of money to fund. (keep your eyes peeled for these!)
With your help and support this can be a true happening. Help us take you on an adventure!
What the show is about:
The volume for a sphere; The equation is simple enough, yet it has a firm grip on many facets of our life. From simple fundamentals such as the very shape of the earth, the water cycle, and planetary orbits to the more complicated metaphors such as history repeating itself and the circle of life, cyclical imagery is present everywhere. We even see the shape everywhere: the shapes in seeds, water droplets, sports balls, various body parts, marbles, fruits. Circles and cycles are reaccuring throughout our lives. Although humans have been built from this very cyclical pattern, we often try to fight it, and modes of society is no exception. In here, this is a space where you accept the cyclical nature of the universe rather than trying to fight it.
Peace, love and THANK YOU
