About this project
Can you blame a man for trying to put himself in a place where he feels absolutely and completely invincible?
Have you ever loved something so much that you can't go a single day without thinking about it? I feel like anyone who has ever experienced the sport of wrestling knows this feeling. We are tired of the sport we love being neglected and pushed to the side. As is so common in our sport, we have taken it upon ourselves to change the way wrestling is shown throughout the media.
We have brought a professional and creative eye to showcase not only the sport, but the personal lives of these competitors in a beautiful and compelling way in which it has never before been shown. We look to do the “reality” genre a favor by showcasing exactly that, the harshest realities that this world has to offer. The cast has already shown openness never before witnessed on the screen. There will be no staged drama or written lines, only the hearts and dreams of these men, on full display for the world to see.
Ithaka offers a never-before-seen look deep into the lives of these world-class athletes. We have literally gone into the lives of these men and their families as they pursue dreams that can only be described as incredible. The intimate view of these men and the wrestling world is something that has never been documented in it's reality. We want to open up a world of hard work, tough choices, huge dreams, wrestling mats, saunas and crossroads all over the United States. These men tread in deep waters that few dare to swim all the way out to, help us capture everything they are going through physically, mentally and emotionally with your contributions. Even for incredibly enthusiastic fans of our sport, senior level wrestling remains a vast and mysterious landscape. Let us shed some light on this world and the incredible human beings in it. Help us show what these athletes do day in and day out as they truly give all of themselves to chase their wildest dreams.
