UNTIL NOW is an illustrated magazine about Coming of Age.
Part nostalgia, part self-flagellation, looking back is often times the only way to understand where we are now.
I developed UNTIL NOW based on a few personal obsessions and the desire to work with a team of illustrators and writers specifically to investigate stories about growing up and the horrifying, amusing, grave, ridiculous moments that come with it.
For this first issue, over forty incredible artists and writers have signed on to produce work exclusively for UNTIL NOW.

Along with these exceptional contributors and the help of a few whip-smart voluntary editorial assistants, I am functioning as editor and art director (really, the entire art department) to bring all this fantastic work to you. With distribution already lined up for spring 2014 and the layout coming along nicely for the February printer deadline, UNTIL NOW is on it's way to closing it's first issue!
UNTIL NOW clocks in at 9" x 12" page to page, which is larger than most standard magazines, and will be printed and bound on archival matte paper with a matte-coated cover. The production of this publication is closer to an art book than a commercial periodical, which is to ensure that the artwork is reproduced at the highest quality possible. In order to print enough copies to reach our distributors and independent consumers, we need your help!
Not only will I, the girl at the end of the above video with the cat, be ever so grateful, but we've got some great prizes for Kickstarter contributors as well! Including:
Thank you so much for supporting this project! With your help, UNTIL NOW will be able to go to print and be in your hands by March 2014!
Risks and challenges
There is only one risk, and that is not making it to the printer.
This publication must exist in print in order to be exactly what it is intended to be: a visually stunning, tactile, coffee table magazine. A PDF simply will not do. In the event the funding for this project is unsuccessful, I will need to engage in a three-pronged attack plan to print the minimum quantity: selling personal work, tapping into personal funds, and increasing advertising initiatives. None of these are particularly desirable, which is why this Kickstarter exists, but I'm determined to see this publication through and sitting on the store shelves.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
