Huzzah! And now some stretch goals...

THANK YOU!  THANKS A MILLION!  We hit that goal so quickly!  Thanks so much to everyone who shared, checked out the project, and huge thanks to my generous backers.  Fully funded in three days and people are still asking how they can help!

Hence, I've decided to develop some stretch goals.  Since the campaign doesn't end until Wednesday, July 27th, I figured we might as well keep this thing going!  There are several other expenses that I could include here that I simply didn't mention in the original description.  Here they are:

  • Extra Hands-On Illustration Workshop - $75
  • Food at the Conference - $100
  • Fresh Art Supplies! - $250
  • Theispot.com Portfolio Registration - $ 750
  • TOTAL: $1150

You read that last part right!  That makes it an additional $1150 in addition to the original $500, for an absolute total of $1,650 by Wednesday.

I know it's ridiculous.  But a little context:

The i spot is a group that showcases illustration portfolios to high-end clients around the world.  I found out about it from a fellow illustrator whom I graduated with.  She highly recommended it because even though it's expensive, she said it has consistently paid of itself in bringing her illustration clients.  I just never had the spare $750, especially since grad school, becoming a dad, full-time art teaching, and a whole bunch of other things!

But as long as this fundraiser's up, I might as well swing for the fences, right?  And, if we don't hit that new goal of $1,650, whatever comes in will be put to good use.  Here's an alternative budget in that case:

  • Extra Hands-On Illustration Workshop - $75
  • Food at the Conference - $75
  • Scanning Large-Scale Artworks - $50
  • Art Supplies - $300
  • TOTAL: $500

Or, perhaps we'll raise a little more.  Here's another alternative budget, just by way of demonstrating that the funds will go towards some great new artwork, no matter how much or little comes in:

  • Food at the Conference - $75
  • Fresh Art Supplies! - $150
  • TOTAL: $225

In short, even tough we've hit our goal, it's still fine to donate.  Next week, I'll post a finalized budget based on whatever comes in.  And not matter what, I'll still be gushing with thanks since this thing went so well!  THANKS AGAIN FOR SUPPORTING THE ARTS!

P.S.  Here's a few celebratory human figure studies, which I've been doing to make sure my drawing chops are solid before I get to that conference:
