What’s this series all about? Ladies reviewing board games! In each episode you get a quick overview of a game, highlights of gameplay, and reviews from each player. You can find out about new games through our show, or learn more about a game by seeing us play through it. Check our show out before you buy a new game – or before you make other people play said game!
Or maybe you just like to watch board game reviews and geek out like we do... I mean, we don't do that. Pffffft.
We LOVED filming our pilot season. It gave us an opportunity to try different things, play lots of games, and learn from our mistakes. We're showing the pilot season now on our YouTube Channel and you can check it out on www.girlsgameshelf.com.
But those episodes were shot on our own dime. And we don't have many dimes!
We want to keep making this show and to keep making it better. But in order to do that, we need a little help. Each episode takes a lot of hard work from a lot of people. To give you an idea, our editor spends anywhere from 8-10 hours on each episode. Producing the show is almost a part time job for several people.
The funds raised from this Kickstarter will help to offset production costs for the remainder of 2016. With your help, we can at least give stipends to our production team who shoot, direct, and edit each episode, pay for more equipment, provide lunches for our cast and crew on shoot days, and allow us to seek sponsors.
What if this Kickstarter is successful beyond our wildest dreams?!
+1500 Stipends for our Composer, John Nobori and for our Sound Production team, Parallel Lines Productions. If we reach this goal, everyone will receive an mp3 of the Girls' Game Shelf Theme, written by John Nobori. For more information, see our update
+5000 A Better Filming Space. We have an angel donor who will come in with the rest of the money to make it happen. Reaching this goal means we will be able to film WHENEVER we need to and we won't have to stop for those pesky lawn mowers and barking dogs. This inevitably means we will be able to do more episodes. If we reach this goal we will film a special episode just for all of our backers. Backers will vote on which game we play in our new home.
This show is fun to watch and it's fun for us to make! We hope you've enjoyed our first episodes as much as we have enjoyed creating them. We're just getting started, the future is bright and there are so many games to play!

Risks and challenges
Since we have a cast and crew who are high in demand, there is always a possibility of needing to reschedule shoots. But fear not! We've planned our shoot days and episode release dates to do our best to ensure that two episodes are released every month regardless of the obstacles we face in scheduling. And, the more money we raise, the better we’ll be able to compensate people and the less likely it is that they’ll be obligated to take other work that comes up.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
