Lay down! Close your eyes! Take a nap and let the sun kiss your skin with a beautiful shade … oh wait you can’t. The moment you arrived at the beach your friends and family went off to play volleyball, go surfing or take that all relaxing walk down the beach. You’ve been waiting for this moment to relax, you just want to shut your eyes, pop in your headphones and drift away, but that’s not possible. Why? Well, you're currently guarding beach bags containing keys, wallets, cellphones, perhaps a kindle for reading or an Ipad. Well my friend, you don’t have to wait for someone to relieve you from your security post in order to begin relaxing. Let the beach vault do that for you!
Spy Goodies - "Beach Vault is easy to use. Just put it in the sand, and you are ready to relax without having to worry about your stuff getting stolen."
Backerjack - "The Beach Vault is a simple capsule that is easy to bury in the sand and cover up with a towel to keep personal belongings safe and out of sight. The Beach Vault, inflatable cushion, and special beach towel designed for easy access can all be had for $30, arriving just in time in June."
Have you or someone you know ever had something stolen from you while relaxing at the beach? Unfortunately, there are people who go to the beach to target unsuspecting beach goers and wait for the opportunity to steal from you.
Have you ever lost your keys in the sand and spent hours searching for them?
Have you ever had a random wave wash over your stuff? The Beach Vault is designed with a rubber O ring to help prevent water from getting to your stuff.
Are you tired of lugging around a bulky beach towels and big pillows along with everything else you bring to the beach?
Does your towel ever blow away in the wind?
The problem with hiding your sunblock or cell phone under or within your towel is that you or someone else can still accidentally step on it.
Who wants to spend their day at the beach constantly watching their belongings?
So how did the invention of the Beach Vault begin? The credit for the Beach Vault truly belongs to my wife Krystal, she is the true genius in the relationship. The idea came to her while we were driving home from the beach one evening as we were recalling a class we took together at Pillar college a few years back about innovation and creativity (shout out to professor Russ Wills) and the rest is history! From the conception of the idea to store valuables under her beach towel, she has always referred to this invention as the Beach Vault. The final design is true to her original idea with the addition of the functional engineering required to bring her idea into a reality. Check out our profile for more information.
We have formed great relationships with suppliers and manufacturers to get The Beach Vault on to beaches everywhere. We have already funded the prototype phase of the project and have finalized the design for optimal use and efficiency. All that's left is the tooling. The funds we raise on Kickstarter are going directly to fund the plastic injection molds, fulfill the pledges, and order additional inventory.
The patent pending Beach Vault is finally ready to hit the market. We have already been fortunate enough to fund the prototyping phase and have a fully functional prototype. This means the funding will go directly to tooling costs and inventory. The challenge we face now is in your hands. We need your help and support to get the Beach Vault on to beaches to finally give beach goers some peace of mind.
We have developed good relationships with suppliers and manufacturers to fulfill orders and are ready to begin manufacturing the minute we reach our funding goal. Our manufacturer is lined up and ready to start. Because we want to include FREE shipping for all U.S. backers, and the lowest possible cost for international customers, we are working to establish the quickest and most affordable way to ship this product to you. We hope to get the product to you in approximately 6 weeks time from the date we hit our pledge goal. Thank you for your encouragement, guidance, support, financial pledges, and for getting the word out to beach goers everywhere. We could not do this without you.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
The total height of the Beach Vault is 12 inches and the Diameter is 6 inches. The rim and the helical screw blade is 1 inch wide making the Beach Vault a total of 8 inches wide. The cone base is 3 inches deep with a 1inch wide handle. The Lid inserts about 1inch down into the storage container. There is a total of 8 full inches of space, however, either side of the handle in the cone base, and the hollow handle is available for small items. The lid also has an inlet which allows taller items, such as the large sunblock spray can in the video, to fit easily inside.
The product video included more items than I personally would bring onto the beach with me and everything fit easily. There is a decent amount of space to store all sorts of valuables.
Kickstarter is not a store and limits product design to only one product per pledge. We want to fulfill every request for our backers, so if you would like discuss custom pledges with us to suit your specific needs, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org
It doesn't lock. We've discussed the lock option to death with consumers and engineers and the need for a lock seemed unnecessary. We want to give you the quickest access to your things.
The essence of the Beach Vault is to store your things while you're laying on your towel so that you don't have to worry about someone stealing stuff from any bags that are in the open; you would have to physically be removed to get to your stuff.
I understand that people may choose to leave their stuff unattended, which is no different from when I used to leave my stuff wrapped up by my towel. The idea is that it is concealed from view and underneath your pillow. We don't encourage anyone from leaving their stuff completely unattended or out of view ever.
Here's the solution: If you did want to run to the boardwalk to get some ice cream or something, you cold always carry everything you stored in the Beach vault like a bucket, it's designed to be carried easily.
