About this project
It is obviously quite inevitable that people will be curious if one claims to have an idea so revolutionary that they can make an entire industry's techniques obsolete. If I were an ordinary person, I would also question this logic. I mean, quite honestly when have you ever heard anyone say such a thing? Never? Me either until I first had the idea a while back.
I had the idea whilst thinking about how advanced we are technologically. Especially when it comes to real world items represented in the virtual world. We have gotten so good at mimicking real things in this manor that 3D has become the standard in professional representation in many industries. For example, architects used to draw their plans out on paper to present them. These days the architect uses a CAD program to make a 3D representation of his idea, and even the plans that are printed to paper for the contractor to have built are generated from this 3D model.
Video games contain some very amazing graphics these days, and can contain a debadged automobile, for example, that can still be identified. This identification is most often quite easy as well because of the quality of the game that makes the car identifiable.
Speaking of cars leads us to our next example. Did you know that many of the car commercials that you see on TV contain at least one car that is 3D? Yes, quite often car companies do this in their commercials for many reasons. One of the biggest being that the quality that can be achieved is so much so that some might argue that under certain conditions the 3D model looks even more appealing than the actual car when shown on screen.
Another reason that these car companies use the 3D cars more often than the actual car itself is because they know that they can show you more detail with the 3D car than they could the real thing. For example let's say they wanted to show you some way that they have redesigned the chassis to provide a smoother ride. Instead of ripping the real car apart to film the chassis, why not just use a 3D model and make it holographic? It is much easier, and in many ways they can highlight more detail about the feature this way as well.
This also makes application demonstration much easier in many situations. Take into consideration a car company that wants to showcase their cars newly redesigned exhaust system, and how that it is more Eco friendly. I am sure that you will agree that an animation of the exhaust system in action would be much more effective than showing the actual car taken apart to show you what the exhaust system looks like from the outside.
Another well known place that you can find high quality 3D that looks ultra realistic is Hollywood films. Hollywood has mastered the art of 3D modeling. They have become very highly skilled at taking what someone imagines, modeling it, compositing it into a film, and making it look real. Just think about your favorite sci-fi flic. Also, don't forget your action movies as well. There are many 3D models used in the making of action movies. Sometimes you never even realize that what you are seeing is not even real. A good example might be a car or a building that was just blown into a million pieces.
Giving thought to all of these things, and admiring advantages that the virtual world brings to our modern way of life I thought to myself, "There is another avenue for potential with this technology!" I realized that there was a whole industry that was failing to see the true potential of this technology. I then began to think of the possibilities. Ideas began to rush to mind.
I began to think of the resort that could allow potential guests to see the whole resort in 3D from the comfort of home, or even on vacation elsewhere. The potential guest could walk the halls of the resort, see the rooms, check room availability, book a room, view the dinning area, chill by the pool, and much more. Anything that the resort already allowed potential guests to do on their original site would also be available in the virtual site as well!
"What about a real estate broker," I thought to myself. He or she could show a property without ever having to lift a finger. The potential client could visit a virtual 3D version of the house, building, condo, etc., and browse about. They would even be able to communicate with the broker just as they were able to on the broker's traditional website.
I thought even further into it. "What if people could walk around in a 3D store? Their favorite online retailer's store. Consumers could then browse items. They could pick them up, and interact with the items like they never could with a traditional website that had a few pictures, and a video at best. Even with a video one has many problems such as lack of quality and resolution. You also don't get to control what you see as the consumer. You don't get to pick it up, and interact with it.
Shortly after realizing the potential that I had discovered I got straight to work. I started by asking myself, "How can one bring true 3D to the web, and not this non sense of calling a few panoramic photos '3D'." After a short amount of time I arrived at my conclusion. Now that I had that major part figured out I began investing time, and money into making it a reality.
I now have an exact business plan that I intend to see through to the end. This plan is as follows: I already have the skills, and knowledge to carry out building one of these sites, but I need a few pieces of specialized equipment to make it work efficiently. Given that creating some of these sites will be a task that is a bit larger than one man can handle on his own, I will also need to be able to hire a few talented folks to assist me in building and delivering these sites in a timely manor. Just as well, I need to make my first sell, and to do that, businesses need to know about me and my talents. Given the fact that I am offering million dollar websites, I will need to reach the owners of businesses that would love to indulge in my new services.
I feel that I should focus my efforts in Las Vegas, NV in search of my first customer, because it is a global business hub. Almost any convention that you can think of is held in Vegas. As a matter of fact, Las Vegas has the busiest convention center in the world. Some conventions held in Vegas include CES, AVN, Blackhat, Defcon, NRA, and much more. When big business is in town then big business men and women are in town. Being in Vegas would afford me the chance to network with some of these people, and give me a chance to let them become familiar with what I have in mind that can help grow their business in a very stylish, and professional manor. Also, Las Vegas is only 250miles from Los Angeles, CA which is another hotspot for big business.
Another major place that contains an abundance of business men and women that are in desperate need of my services is Dubai. Dubai is my second largest target for getting business. As Vegas is first. Understand though that I am NOT limiting myself to either of these two places, but only focusing on them in hopes of decreasing the amount of time that it takes to land my first customer.
PS - Please keep in mind that we have set our goal at $70,000 because we can do what we need with that amount, but anything above that amount would help things happen a lot smoother and faster. Thank you in advance for your support.
Risks and challenges
One of the challenges that we face is landing our first customer. A lot of people never want to be the first to take a chance on the new guy, but in pursuit of resolving this issue, we will be building our first one as a model. It will showcase our talents. Also we have faith that as soon as companies learn about what we are offering, and know how revolutionary it is then they will quickly act on the opportunity in an attempt to get ahead of their competition. Although, we are so confident that companies only need to hear about us before jumping at the opportunity that we predict that a bidding war may set off between two specific online retailers.
Another potential challenge is getting our service to go global, and for many different countries around the world to know about us. We also believe that we have a solution for this, and it is to use internet marketing combined with a little bit of televised advertisement at a good price. You know that even the national news agencies tend to get a little story hungry, and once it reaches national news then it is very likely that other countries will start to take an interest reporting it in their country as well.
Yet, another concern that we have is that, as senator R | Rand Paul stated, many foreign countries are scared to do business with the US as far as using our technology, because of the NSA wanting to have an eye in everything. Facebook, Google, and many other American tech companies have lost billions of dollars for this reason. We have a plan to gain a favorable global market none the less.
Overall, we don't see these as being very likely to stand in our way, but it is still possible for this to happen. Given this fact, we are doing everything that we can to hope for the best and prepare for the worst.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
