Hi I'm Tom Winkler. When I launched doodie.com and doodieman.com I was thrilled to connect with the gargantuan audience that exists for potty-toons! With the advent of Kickstarter, YouTube and high-speed internet I can finally bring you the cartoon pilot you've always wanted! But can I do the impossible?
Can I deliver a pooping super hero you actually care about? Absolutely! I think I did a pretty good job of it, without a word of dialogue, in D-man's 9 minute short "The Hero's Load" ... but don't take my word for it! Check out the conversation I had with Jesus - a fan from Germany. He wrote the below responses during a chat with my "Ricky on Earth" character when suddenly he realized he was chatting with me:
Thank you Jesus (literally)! I've had tons of emails like this over the years. My heart's desire is to deliver this new 11 minute pilot to an audience who feels drawn to the rebellious anti-hero, all the while giving them the feeling that "everyone has his purpose".
"Doodieman vs Captain Crack-Up" will be a much bigger production than "The Hero's Load"- which had no dialogue and mediocre backgrounds. (I know they were mediocre - I drew them myself!) This pilot will employ professional actors, original score and beautifully rendered backgrounds. Animation is known for being labor and time intensive. A 30 second commercial can easily cost more than $60,000. With the expediency of Adobe Flash and by making use of already animated D-man cycles I can make this cartoon for the fraction of the cost.
But what was I thinking? I should have led with this! - I'm thrilled to share with you this list of who's interested in being involved!
Mark Colangelo - Former "Ren and Stimpy" animator.
Eddie Pepitone - Comedy genius and star of "The Bitter Buddha".
Mark Gantt - Bad-ass star of "The Bannen Way".
Randy Kerber - Academy award nominated composer AND most recently he was the hands of Liberace in "Behind the Candelabra"!
Philip McGrade - His credits include: voiceover artist on "How to Train Your Dragon" and staff writer on "The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson"!
...more coming soon!
I'm not sure if the FAQ allows pictures, so here are a few shots of Doodieman Fan-art pieces, the first of which is mind-blowingly great and was created by Steve Durrenberger!
Who made the below pieces? If you come forward I'm glad to mention your names!
I'm so grateful to you, my fans, for enjoying Doodieman on the multiple levels I hope to deliver. I love making crazy potty humor jokes AND I love telling great stories. Thanks for being a fan!
