ROPES USA are the creative, colorful special edition debut of ROAM ROPES – the world’s first fully-integrated, wearable, Bluetooth earphones with companion amplifier and audio personalization app. The best-sounding and most customizable earphones on the market today, ROPES USA are now available for the first time.
Every ear has its own unique “fingerprint” – or “sound signature,” if you will. No one sound fits all ears. Not even close. That’s why we give you your own EQ.
EQs work in ranges, or “bands.” They let you “cut” and “boost” the high and low ranges of sound – commonly referred to as “treble” and “bass.” Thanks to the ROAM EQ app, you get five full bands of sound to work with. Plus DSP functionality that includes dynamic bass boost, spectral effect, and a preamp gain.

The Bluetooth-enabled earphones feature a fully-integrated amplifier and audio equalizer that can be easily and quickly customized using the ROAM EQ mobile app. By allowing users to adjust audio frequencies in their ROPES, ROAM EQ empowers listeners to declare audio independence from the tyranny of the standard “one sound fits all” listening experience. Customize your sound based on how you want to hear it. Or use the pre-set functions on ROAM EQ to hear your favorite music the way each individual artist intended it to be heard, felt, lived, and loved.

Our goal is not just to develop and market the world’s greatest wireless, wearable earphones – but to reintroduce the world to the fine art of sound. To accomplish these lofty goals, we need your support. Not just to fund our efforts, but to spread the word and share the sweet sounds (and look and feel) of ROPES USA. We’ve completed the design and testing for ROPES USA, and are heading into the manufacturing phase. This period includes final testing and evaluation, packaging, and final product validation. Manufacturing costs of our world-class and innovative earphones are extremely high. We need your help to make it through this phase. For USA Olympians:
Inspired by and created for elite U.S.A. athletes, the ROPES USA project was launched in January 2016. ROAM founder Steven Lamar created this special patriotic edition of his popular ROPES earphones because of his admiration for Olympians. Throughout his life, Steven has drawn motivation from Olympians' perseverance, strength and commitment to excellence. He set out to create a USA-themed version of ROPES earphones to honor the athletes that inspire him.
Steven’s vision was to leverage the superior audio experience and personalization abilities of the world’s most powerful wireless earphones – into a sporty, sleek, cool, colorful version of ROPES. ROPES USA will be worn and rocked by U.S.A. athletes in Brazil this summer. By participating in this fundraising campaign, you can proudly don your own pair. It’s the next best thing to hanging an Olympic medal around your neck.
For U.S. Service Men and Women:
Elite-level athletes weren’t the only inspiration for ROPES USA. Steven was raised in a military family, and the selfless service of his father (a retired Navy Captain for 28 years) and brother (a former Naval Aviator and Top Gun instructor) left an undying impression on him. In addition to powering world-class athletes to international glory in Rio, ROPES USA were created to inspire patriotism in all of us. And to honor not only our active-duty military and veterans, but all our first responders, firefighters, and police officers – along with their families. In recognition of the sacrifice and courage displayed by all our U.S. service men and women, ROAM will donate $10,000 to the Gary Sinise Foundation upon the completion of this campaign. Please note that no funds raised through this campaign will be used to fund this donation.
Artist Sound Signatures:
Sound is a musician’s art form, but today’s ordinary earphones only allow listeners to hear music one way – the way the audio engineers decide for you. We value the art of music. And the unique talent it takes to create it. So we created a premium mobile audio platform to reproduce sound that’s true to the artist’s intention. And we partnered with new and established artists alike to create their own unique Artist Sound Signatures for ROAM and USA ROPES users. Starting in the fall of 2016, ROAM users can download an Artist Sound Signature directly to their ROAM EQ app – connecting them to the artist and their recordings in a way that has never been heard or felt before.

We all hear differently, and no one sound fits all listeners. The ROAM EQ Companion App liberates listeners from the tyranny of the ordinary “one sound fits all” experience. It empowers music lovers like you to control the EQ in your USA ROPES via Bluetooth – and to customize the sound as you desire for the music you love. ROAM EQ also features pre-set EQ’s for various musical genres – offering a quick and easy path to audio customization.

And it looks great when you don’t need it.
Comfortable Fit:
The angle, fit, and seal of the capsule in your ear is critical to comfort and sound quality. The ROPES USA ear capsule fit was engineered by Knowles, a 65-year-old company dedicated to performance audio in consumer electronics – and best known for miniature microphone and receiver technology for the hearing-impaired. These guys know a lot about earphones. We leverage their incredible data, insight, and experience to bring you the best fit and feel.
Cutting-Edge Tech:
ROPES USA are powered by ROAM's EQ Engine – a pendant that houses a powerful 28-bit, 50-MIPS processor and ultra-low noise, high-performance 24-bit stereo DAC. The signal-to-noise ratio is an exceptional 98dB. Sensitivity is incredible at 105dB @ 1KHz. Audio distortion is non-existent. The 10mm direct radiating base driver delivers ultra-low distortion audio from 15 Hz - 4KHz, while the balance armature transducers provide the upper mid-range and high frequencies from 4KHz to beyond 20KHz. This amplifier, Bluetooth, and battery compartment serves as the power behind the exceptional audio that is delivered by our hybrid earphones and it is the hardware core that supports our ROAM EQ audio personalization app.
