In March 2011, SYREN Modern Dance is bringing a week of performances to audiences in New York City and the company needs support to bring this project to life. There are costumes to construct, music rights to attain, dancers and musicians to rehearse, and audience members to bring to the theater!
This production will include the New York Premieres of “Toward Home” (Composer: Damon Ferrante) and “Dolce” as well as the return of “the last of the leaves”. In keeping with our expanded mission to commit to the legacy of presenting dance with live music, SYREN will take the stage with Artemis Chamber Ensemble and the instrumentalists of Steeplechase Arts.
A production like this requires a budget of $25,000 and we are launching this campaign to raise $5,000 of that from our community of individual supporters.
We ask you to start your participation today by pledging your support of these performances. Every single dollar raised will go directly towards this production. You will be on stage with us. You will make the difference in making this possible.
It is the commitment of individuals and their pledges to dance that strengthen SYREN as we persist in our mission to keep dance with live music thriving.
It truly "takes a village" to bring dance to the stage, and SYREN is certainly the better for every individual that has taken the time to engage and invest in our work.
