Summer Success

What a wild few weeks! Who knew that some schmuck could have a successful Kickstarter campaign about his borderline egotistical video game magazine, with an issue about a game practically no one outside Japan has heard of -- and without a video, a bunch of stretch goals, or connecting to Facebook! Gasp!

Seriously though, thanks to everyone who pledged, linked to, talked about, or even passively acknowledged this project. Most people have been cool, understanding, and eager, and that is naturally a huge motivator in getting this all done and upholding my end of the deal. My immediate plans are to start proper work on the issue this month (week!), as well as prepare for the Japan trip and interview with My Summer Vacation creator Kaz Ayabe (though the big stuff is mostly out of the way). Then in June, it's about completing the issue and getting everything sent out, hopefully before the end of July. But it's a lot of magazines to buy and have printed, so I don't expect the speediest of processes. Nevertheless, I'll keep everyone abreast of any big news here and on Twitter and Facebook -- meanwhile, backers, expect more exclusive updates as progress continues.

But to everyone: thank you from the bottom of my heart, and I will see you in time for summer.
