Hey guys, over the past decade, I have managed to record and release a number of singles and EPs. Perhaps you have heard or seen the videos for "Superior", "Chemotherapy" or "Still Love Christmas"? Perhaps you are a fan of Watershed or read the book "Hitless Wonder"? Perhaps you are just a friend who wants to chip in? Anyway, Superior - The Best of Colin Gawel is going to contain all my previous solo work in one nifty CD package along with 8 un-released tracks. 18 songs in all. The whole project is ready to go, but a little help across the finish line would be a huge help.
If you would like to pre-order a copy of this once in my lifetime project, it would be much appreciated and in my humble opinion I think you will be getting way more than your money's worth in return.
$2,500 is a very low goal. Basically, 100 CDs sold. 200 would be better and even more would be better than that. It costs money and time to put together a decade of music. Recording, mixing, mastering, pressing, babysitters and beer all add up quick.
So if you want to help me cover some expenses and get some great music in return, I would love to have your support. Thanking you in advance, Colin
Still not convinced? Don't take my word for it, check out the videos below.
And then..Do it.
Risks and challenges
If this project is funded, I see no risks or challenges to it's successful completion. I suppose some sort of natural disaster could de-rail things, but other than that we should be good to go.
It's my opinion that crowdfunding should only be used when a project is going to be completed with or without the help of others. EX: The Best of Colin Gawel is completed and coming out this December no matter how this campaign goes. A Pre-order would REALLY help me cover costs and allow you to get a great record in advance. I'm confident that this is a Win-Win for both parties.
Risk? If I fall short of the goal, I fall short. Embarrassing and tough on the pocketbook sure. But this is still a good record and It will be released this December. X O X OLearn about accountability on Kickstarter
