The Finding - The Story
The Finding is a story about three friends who discover their true selves amidst their efforts in trying to find their way out of a forest.
It's about survival, love, and friendship and explores the moral conflict between self-preservation and altruism that each of us face everyday.
Adam is a young self-made millionaire who founded a successful IT company. Having had lost his parents when he was a boy, and having needed to fend for himself for most of his life, he has a cynical view of human nature: people are motivated by selfishness and need for power.
Ben is Adam's best friend and co-founder of their company. Ben and Adam are like brothers: they trust each other completely and yet are fiercely competitive. A bon vivant, Ben floats through life unaffected, dining at the finest establishments in the company of ravishing women.
Elle, whose name means light, believes that people are inherently good. She is drawn to Adam's strength and resourcefulness and is intrigued by his cynicism. She shows Adam what it means to love and to be loved.
Elle and Adam are engaged to be married in two weeks when Ben presents them as their wedding gift, a hiking trip in the mountains.
What happens on that fateful trip is the subject of our movie The Finding.
Because we will have started and completed production of the movie before our Kickstarter campaign is over, you will see your contribution bear fruit even before the Kickstarter campaign ends. You will be part of an intimate inner circle with exclusive access to the creative process as our movie is being made. You will receive almost instant gratification from your contribution in seeing the project come to life, through its ups and downs, and ultimately its successful completion that you had made possible. We invite you to be part of this uniquely social creative experience.
The funds are used to pay for the following: lodging, travel, food, equipment, materials, post-production, and submission fees for film festivals. The movie is currently being produced with personal contributions from members of the cast and crew. Martin has invested a significant portion of his personal savings into the project and Min has taken on a huge personal debt to finance the project. Your support will enable us to continue our work without going broke and homeless (literally).
If you're a lover of cinema or the fine arts, then you should support our cause because this is a movie that is not just entertainment; it is a thought-provoking film that will thrill your senses and move your hearts. Our incorporation of the eclectic views and styles of Asian, European, Latin American, and American filmmaking traditions combine for a truly modern and universal work of art that can only be told through a diverse and international cast and crew like ours.
