Today, with all of the electronic stimulus that barrages us every day, from phones and computers to talking watches, we have become a connected world “electronically” but unconnected in the ways that were so important in days gone by.
I put my love and passion for the bounty and bail business into my love for family fun board games. Jail or bail is the labor of that love. Families and friends can turn off the phone and sit down for a few hours of great fun.
The game is loosely based on the justice system. Players roll dice to move their pieces around a board filled with penalties and rewards, just like life. Players are required to follow the instructions from 2 different decks of cards, Misdemeanor and Felony. Each deck instructs the player to either pay a fine, collect a reward or spend some time in Lock-up. However, the decks also contain the coveted OUT ON BAIL CARDS or the dreaded FELONY CARD. An OUT ON BAIL card erases a bad decision and allows the player to walk right out the jail house door. Three FELONY cards ends the game for a player.
Sounds easy? Don't worry there are more challenges ahead. Do everything right, stay away from collecting Felonies and earn a fat bankroll. Just one roll of the dice or one flip of the card and you will be required to CHANGE SEATS with the broke criminal across the board with 2 Felonies! Just like in real life Justice is Blind but rarely fair.
The goal of the game is to be the last player on the board. Knock your fellow players out by giving them 3 Felonies or bankrupting them. The game changes every time and sometimes it’s more fun to be knocked out of the game than to win.
Jail or Bail is in the production phase right now. The FIRST EDITION production is already paid. The Kick starter funds will be used for a larger follow-on production run to take the game to several gaming conventions across the country this year. We will be announcing our convention schedule on the OOB Entertainment Facebook page. If you are planning on attending any of these conventions look me up and let me know what you think of the game.
Additionally, I will be offering the Jail or Bail game on Amazon later this year, but the first place to get it is by helping to fund it on Kick Starter. You have many choices to help people realize their dreams-I appreciate you taking the time to consider Jail or Bail.

OBJECT: Become the only player left with money and 2 or less felony charges.
EQUIPMENT: Equipment consists of a board, 2 dice, money, mover pieces and 2 decks of cards.
PREPARATION: Shuffle both decks, then place both the misdemeanor deck and the felony deck face down on their allotted spaces on the board. Place each players mover piece on the start space. Players choose a player to be the “clerk.” Each player rolls the dice and the player with the biggest number begins.
CLERK: The clerk gives each player $1000 to begin the game. The clerk handles all cash being paid out to the players and also accepts all money from the players who draw a card that requires payment.
MONEY: Every player starts with $1000.00 and must keep their cash in front of them so that it is visible to all other players throughout the game.
START: Each player collects $100 for LANDING on the Start space. Players do NOT collect $100 for passing start or for being placed there after leaving jail or visitation. Players ALWAYS begin at the START space after getting out of jail, leaving the bail bond office, visitation etc.
DOUBLES: Anytime a player rolls doubles, he or she is entitled to another turn until they no longer roll doubles UNLESS they land on a lose a turn space, go to jail space, or draw a card that requires them to lose a turn. If a player goes to jail, the player MUST roll doubles to get out if they do not possess an “OUT ON BAIL” card. When the player rolls doubles he or she will begin at the START space and shall move their game piece on that roll. You do NOT get an extra roll of the dice when you change seats if you roll doubles.
KEEPER CARDS: “Keeper Cards” are cards that will say, “OUT ON BAIL” and “FELONY.” If a player receives a “Keeper Card” the player must place it facing up in front of them, visible to all players. Once a player receives 3 FELONY cards, he or she is out of the game. Any remaining money he or she has will go to the bounty reward in the center of the board.
MISDEMEANOR & FELONY CARDS: When a player is instructed to draw one of these cards, the player MUST read it out loud. If the card orders the player to pay, player must pay the CLERK.
FINES & COSTS SPACES: If a player lands on a space that requires them to pay, that money shall always be placed in the CENTER of the board for the BOUNTY REWARD money. Do NOT pay the clerk.
BOUNTY REWARD: When a player lands on the Bounty Reward space, he or she wins all of the money in the center of the board. If there is no money in the center, player is out of luck.
CHANGE SEATS: If a player draws a change seats card, or lands on a space with the instructions to change seats, player may choose another players seat of his or her choice unless it states otherwise. The player chosen, must get up and leave all of his or her money AND cards. (Players do NOT change mover pieces or places on the board.) If the player takes the seat from the player on his or her left, the “seat taker” gets to play again while the other person loses a turn and continues clockwise around the board. If a player chooses the clerks seat, that player becomes the clerk.
FELONY & MISDEMEANOR BLOCK: If a player lands on the space near the block that instructs them to roll 1 die, that player instantly rolls the die trying to avoid the felony or misdemeanor block spaces. If the player rolls a 6, he or she made it through!
OUT OF MONEY OR CAUGHT WITH 3 FELONY CARDS: The first player to run out of money OR receives 3 “FELONY” cards, he or she is AUTOMATICALLY out of the game. When a player is out due to holding 3 felony cards, all of that player's money will go to the center of the board. If a player is almost out of money and is ordered to pay all players a fee but does not have enough money to pay EVERY player, then that player's money will go into the center of the board as bounty reward money and he or she is out of the game.
FELONY CARD GIVE AWAY: If a player lands on the corner space “Give a felony card to any player” that entitles the player to get rid of a felony card to a player of his or her choice. Remember, 3 and you’re OUT!
EXPUNGE A FELONY: When landing on the “expunge a felony” space, this allows the player to get rid of 1 felony card. The player places that card on the bottom of the felony deck.
OUT ON BAIL: This card allows a player to get out of jail. The player may sell this card for any amount that another player is willing to pay.
LOSE A TURN: Players must skip their next turn even if they roll doubles.
Have fun, stay out of jail, don't catch a felony and always pay your bail bondsman!
