The Morrow Project 4th. Edition is well on its way to completion. This kickstarter will fund the development costs and printing costs for our first run of books.
What Is It?
The Morrow Project is a pen-and-paper-style roleplay game originally published in 1980. In The Morrow Project you assume the role of a normal everyday person who has taken up the challenge of helping to save and rebuild civilization following a major world changing event. You and your team receive special training before being frozen in cryo-stasis waiting for the time when you will be needed. The plan is for you to wake several years following the end of civilization. You and your team will help the project in rebuilding first the United States, then the rest of the world. Unfortunately, things don't always go as planned.
Due to economic conditions and other life events the company has been running in "cold-sleep" mode. We have been shipping product but have not had the resources to develop new material. Having reached a point of relative stability, we have been quietly making plans during the past year for the relaunch of The Morrow Project.
The Morrow Project 4th. Edition will expand the game book from 77 pages to over 300 pages of TMP goodness. The new book will be available through normal distribution channels and on our website. The funding for the first print run will come from the Kickstarter campaign. This will be a beautiful 8.5 x 11 perfect bound soft-cover book.
Many folks have been requesting hard-bound copies of The Morrow Project. We hear and obey! The new edition will also be available in a hard-bound format. These books will also be available through normal distribution channels and our website.
We have been funding development as money becomes available. Some of the fine professionals working on the project have been gracious enough to sign contracts agreeing to be paid after the release of the book. This is a common industry practice that allows the company to hopefully sell enough books to pay the developers for their fine work. We would like to include some and maybe all of this in the kickstarter project. That way these folks get paid faster for their hard work.
Website and eCommerce:,
Those of you that have been following the saga, will note that we have suffered from a series of hacks intended to disrupt our operations. (Personally I think it is the agents of Krell, but can't prove it.) Our intent is to redevelop the basic site in a more secure environment. Also we will step up our ecommerce game by going to a professionaly secured and hosted shopping cart. This adds to the overall cost of the operation but should provide better service to the customer and stability to the company.
Call to action:
1. Please fund this endevor at what you feel is an appropriate level.
2. Tweet, Facebook, blog, e-mail, bleat, or tell your friends about this project so that they have the opportunity to support the project.
Even if you have not spoken to your Morrow Project friends in 30 years, call them and let them know TMP is out of cryo-stasis. If your friend is mad because you killed his character 25 years ago, make it up to him or her by ordering them a special pre-release copy of the project.

Super Cache backers will receive this product automatically. Other backing levels can add it by upping your pledge by $15. This is well below the retail price as a special thank you to our kickstarter backers.
Risks and challenges
The biggest two challenges have always been resource related. Talented people to do the work, and enough money to pay them for their fine work. Over the years we have instituted industry-standard best practices to ensure our limited financial resources are well spent. Since we are a small company we depend on a short list of independent contractors for many aspects of our projects. This means a preferred contractor is not always available to work when we want to launch a project. The funding from Kickstarter allows us access to a larger pool of contractors. Ensuring projects start earlier and often are completed sooner.
In the past our risks consisted mostly of projects being shelved or cancelled for lack of capital. With a successfully funded Kickstarter project, the major risk is that the project would be delayed.
