Kickstarter diary number four : Credit Island

Hi everybody!

So we are entering the final week of our Kickstarter! Things seem to be going ginormously well since we already reached 500,000$! *Gasp*

This week, we've focused on organizing the final stretch. We're adding space in our Premium and Elite backer tiers; we talked to our plushie expert, and she told us she could make a second batch later during the year. So if we give her time, the number of adorable bricktron plushies will double!

Yesterday, we finished answering our private messages accumulating in our Kickstarter inbox. 780 messages in total have been carefully answered, often with multiple replies. Hurray, now we can stop neglecting our Facebook page, Twitter, Forum and sub-Reddit!

We've been shopping for an office space this week, and we think we've found something. Not working on tiny screens, crammed in a tiny bedroom will make a huge difference. And once we move in, we should be incredibly more productive.

We also created a video explaining one of the most basic rewards available: getting your name in Castle Story.

Credit Island

I hope our plan is interesting and that it will make having your name in the game worth it. We can’t wait to read what you have to say about the credit island!

I’ll wrap this up real quick. We have other things we’d like to talk to you but they’re not entirely ready yet (Paypal widget, etc…) so we’ll make another diary early next week.

Excuse me, If this question was...

What about the modding and API for modders?
It would be really nice to see mods for CastleStory.

Look to Minecraft - at least 4 popular mods: Forestry, Industrial Craft, Buildcraft, RedPower and a tone of small mods (my current minecraft build has 45 mods).

I think it is strictly required to nearest time after release - it allows to fund new and new money from new users, which want to get CastleStory.
It is new lives of the game.

What do you think about this? Thank you, Oleg

Crap, I will have the prototype today. When it says August, it means AUGUST.

    3. Dj Ludowici on

Love it! That sounds wicked fun!

    4. Aaron Goselin on

The latest date the prototype will be released is Oct. 17th. Hopefully it will release before then.

As for the names, you will be sent a form that you fill out when the Kickstarter finishes. You will enter the information you want there.

Outstanding idea! Genius! It also motivates me to pledge more!

    6. Jamie Wilson on

I love this idea, it's awesome! My only question, and forgive me if its already been asked cause there are a ton of comments here, but for those of us ordering multiple games with 2 names for example to give one away, when these are sent out will they be labelled so my game has my name and my boyfriend's has his? Thanks for all your hard work!

Ok thank you, also yeah i was wondering along with Chris when the prototype is going to be out, im assuming soon after the kick start launch is over.

    8. Chris on

      *prototype i mean

    9. Chris on

Did they say how soon the Alpha would be out? Just wondering

    10. Aaron Goselin on

Well more accurately: There will be no multiplayer in the alpha prototype but there will be in the full game. I would expect multiplayer in the game by the time beta is released.

    11. Benny O'Connor on

No daniel there is not, but there probably will be in the future the devs said thay want to make a solid singleplayer game before they start on multiplayer

    12. Missing avatar

      Daniel Mileto on

There is like multiplayer in this game right?

    42. Rafiki2085 on

It is one of the best ideas for including peoples names in a game that I have ever seen, or heard about.

    43. Steve on

It's unique idea like this that further prove that we're going to have one awesome game on release.

    44. Missing avatar

      Trallakid on

Thats an awesome idea. I can't wait to find a gem with my name on it. :D

    45. Dexter Lowe on

That sounds like a great idea, it sounds so much more fun than just looking for your name in a credit roll. Way to innovate! :)

    46. Evan on

Great idea, credits that we can interact with is awesome!

    47. walkir -Obsidian Order ot Goat Kn. Cmdr. on

Great idea, but you obviously never watched Wall E. ;) Well, it's not exactly a game, but it shows that credits can be fun. Even without sticking the bloopers at the end.

Still, this idea of yours is absolutely great.

    48. Ondra Exner on

It is really great idea. :) But i have one question, how will you technicly know, that the gem i just got is mine, so I can get archievment. Will it be connected to email, nickname or something completely different?
