Vinyl is decidedly making a comeback. All of our music has previously been available only on CD and MP3 format, but for our new single/b-side, "Stuck/Friends," we want to change that. These new songs were born out of uninhibited improvisation and many of the words written on the spot. One song was literally written, music and words, on the first play through, and is lyrically one of the most powerful pieces the band has written to date. These organic collaborations are the best we've had as musicians, and in staying true with the nature of their creation, we want to master these tracks for a purely analog format and put them out on the best sounding medium around.
We have already recorded the songs. We need to get them mastered for vinyl and then send them off to the factory for pressing. This process is expensive and our band fund is empty, so this is where you come in. If you want to hear lushfarm like you've never heard them before, we need your help!
We've also decided to record a bonus track, "Anxiety," to be released on MP3 exclusively to Kickstarter supporters--no matter what level of your contribution!
Here is an acoustic version of "Stuck" we did a few weeks ago:
Risks and challenges
The main challenges are going to be: getting the record pressed inexpensively, creating and printing the sleeves inexpensively, coming up with an inexpensive way to ship all of them.. basically $1000 (minus all the money that Kickstarter takes) is a very low estimate for everything we'd like to do and the main risk is that we will lose money. We hope you can afford to donate something--but if not you can still help us by sharing our link on your Facebook and Twitter feeds to get the word out there!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
