We Got Funded!
Big thank you to all our supporters who helped to get this project to reach it's goal. You can follow the games progress right now over here: 8bitkingdoms.com.
8 Bit Kingdoms is an upcoming multiplayer real time strategy war game for PC, MAC, Linux, and Mobile (IOS/Android). We began this project last year with the intent to make it a simple war game for your internet browser. However, the more we worked on it, the more ideas came to us and it continued to grow. Keep in mind that what you see here today is only a taste of what the game has to offer, we love the feeling of discovering something new and that's why we will not be revealing too much at this time. We are saving that excitement for future updates and the game's final release!
In 8 Bit Kingdoms, you are a ruler in the land of Leftos striving for total domination across the land. Take the classic military approach and destroy anyone who opposes you or construct the King's Throne to silence your enemies. Be careful though, enemy spies can sabotage your production! How you achieve victory is up to you, just understand the path to rule is never a clean one. The main objective in this game is not necessarily to take out your opponent by yourself, but to outlast them; build a great stronghold and buy time until winter comes so Ice Zmbies can overrun your enemies for you!
The game is currently being designed for PC, MAC, and Linux with Mobile iterations releasing soon after. We also would like to have an online browser version of the game that requires a paid account log in. This will allow players to easily access the game wherever they are using virtually any modern device! (Just don't play at school or work please... Just kidding!) Typically, Not many browser based games offer much replay value, but 8 Bit Kingdoms is confident it can change that stereotype! We want our game to have a vast muiltyplayer system and campaign, compelling the player to progress and unlock countless features, while learning new ways to play! Reaching further then our goal amount for the project will mean a better experience with extended features!
First off, this game is not associated with any 3rd party outside of the company Code Bunny. That said, 8 Bit Kingdoms is set in the medieval era were military power is not the only form of influence. Plan your route to victory by customizing your load-out and jumping into a one on one match with another player or computer. Use military units to gain map control and defend your Stronghold!
Each unit has it's own stats that are displayed on screen, outlining strengths and weaknesses. 1: Name, 2: Cost (Gold + Silver), 3: Attack Power, 4: Attack Speed, 5: Armor, 6: Magic Resistance, 7: Movement Speed, 8: Strength (Health).
Time is money, so every second in the game is worth one silver. This can be increased by Pushing Coppers which refers to moving around money in your stronghold to make more money (similar to what the top 1% do in our world). To do this, upgrade your Master of Coin, and if you don't have enough funds to do that, consider taking a loan from the Bank of Navos! The best way to make sure you have a larger steady income is to collect the map's resources with your laborers and ship them off for a profit!
Need to amplify an attack or attempt to prevail when countless enemies are knocking at your door? Take charge and use an epic hero power like the Ark's "Wolf Charge" or Melicobra's "Beam of Light"! Each hero and hero power is different for all the houses and they can be personalized to suit your strategy.

Creating a funding campaign for this game will enable us to hire the necessary people that will help us with particular tasks in order to complete the game. The funds will also go towards purchasing required licences and help with the odds and ends of the project.
So why only $900 bucks? That budget is the basic amount we will need to finish the game. This means, the more money we raise will translate into a larger multiplayer experience and longer campaign. Kickstarter also allows us to get the word out to you guys so its a double whammy! (huh, that's first time I've used that word. I can see why no one uses it.)

Thank you so much for taking the time to view our project. If you think you would enjoy seeing this game come to life in the near future, we hope you would consider pledging for the game. Below are two visual representations of some of the rewards we offer! Check out the right side of the page to see the others. (Captain obvious here reporting for duty).
We offer many great rewards to the community who are founders of the game, supporting us from day one. Regardless of what you chose to do, we really appreciate your time. Wish us luck!
Risks and challenges
The biggest challenge that we faced in creating this game was being able to commit time and resources into this project, when we did not have much time and money ourselves. Designing a game like 8 Bit Kingdoms is quite a difficult task because the possibilities are so vast, and we can't help but continue to make it bigger, because we love it.
Our team is dedicated to making this game a reality not just for us, but for the community as well. That's why we would love to receive your support and input on the game, for it will be completed not only by a passionate team, but with a community just as equal. Thank you so much again for taking the time to see and explore our game, we hope to see you on the battle field! (That's an over-used closing statement we know, but we mean it!)Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
