Fall in love once more with the creative and relaxing play of colouring!
If you've ever looked at Mel Anastasiou's gorgeous illustrations in Pulp Literature and thought "I'd love to colour those," we have the perfect gift for you! This special edition has a dozen of the most beautiful pen and ink drawings from the first four issue of Pulp Literature, specially formatted and newly reworked for your colouring pleasure.
With the funds raised with this new campaign we'll be able to print these stunning illustrations in a full-sized, high quality book. The books will be saddle-bound to lie flat for colouring and ease of removal. And each framable print will have a blank reverse side to prevent bleed-through.
The campaign is also an opportunity to renew or subscribe to Pulp Literature, and any funds raised outside what we need to produce Colouring Paradise will go directly to paying contributors and keeping our non-profit magazine afloat.
Choose the reward that suits your style. As little as $2 gets you a single high resoloution pdf (choose from 'Magpie', 'Michael', or 'Lost Lady'), a fiver gets you all three, and a ten-spot lands you the entire book in pdf form, formatted for letter-sized paper.
The print version of the book is available for $20, and you can order copies for six of your cousins, nephews, aunts and uncles with the $100 Santa Pack. If you want to read the stories that originally accompanied these stunning illustrations, we have print and digital packages that include back issues and subscriptions to Pulp Literature. And yes, you can renew your print or digital subscription to the magazine here as well!
And for those of you who want a more personal project, Mel has agreed to do a portrait for the first five backers to pledge $500 or more. Hurry though! Her portraits are usually reserved for feature authors, and are in high demand!
By request we have brought back our editorial packages at three different funding levels. For $300 we will give a double editorial pass through up to 80,000 words of your works-in-progress, novellas, or short story collections. At the $600 level we have our Twelve-week online writing course, and at $1200 you get a full year of mentorship from our senior editors. We love developing new talent, and we want to help your bring your stories to life!
We are also delighted to bring back our Bowen Island Writing retreat on January 8-10 2016. Join us for three days of luxurious accomodation, gourmet food, and good company while you write 3000 - 6000 words in our writing circles!
At $3750 we'll have enough to print and mail out all these rewards. If we go beyond our goal and make $5000 we will add two more pages of never-published artwork to the book, and at $7500 we'll add another two, all for the same price!
With your support, we can turn this colouring book into a reality in time to ease the strain of holiday shopping and make gift-giving a breeze this year!
Risks and challenges
As this project launches, the artwork has already been collected and layout has begun. By the time the campaign ends we should be ready to hit 'send' to get the files to our fabulous printers, First Choice Books, and we'll have the books ready to mail out in December.
We've been publishing a 250-page quarterly on time and on-budget for two years now, so a 24-pager should be a doddle. Our first two Kickstarter Projects, PULP Literature, and PULP Literature Year 2 were delivered without a hitch. Barring fire, flood, or zombie apocalypse, we're pretty confident we can get these babies into your hands in time for the holidays!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
