A prototype is a preliminary model of something. Projects that offer physical products need to show backers documentation of a working prototype. This gallery features photos, videos, and other visual documentation that will give backers a sense of what’s been accomplished so far and what’s left to do. Though the development process can vary for each project, these are the stages we typically see:
Proof of Concept
Explorations that test ideas and functionality.
Demonstrates the functionality of the final product, but looks different.
Looks like the final product, but is not functional.
Appearance and function match the final product, but is made with different manufacturing methods.
Appearance, function, and manufacturing methods match the final product.
FJORD 60-C & 36 Adventure Camera Backpacks
Following the success of the NYA-EVO FJORD 36, we announce the FJORD 60-C - a bigger and more
adaptable adventure backpack for photographers, filmmakers and explorers everywhere.
The FJORD 60-C in action
NYA-EVO brings a new breed of adventure
backpack to the camera equipment market.
Since its launch in 2017, our FJORD 36 and
removable camera insert system have been a
game-changer for adventure photographers
the world over.
Adventurers, photographers, filmmakers,
travellers, extreme sports professionals; Japan,
Nepal, Antarctica, Argentina, Norway,
Indonesia, Alaska, Namibia, Canada. Our
backpacks have already helped some of
world’s most talented explorers take their
craft even further.
It’s this reputation for quality gear and design
that helped us become the carry-on partner
for industry leading Phase One’s IQ4 medium
format camera system.
Now, we welcome the next evolution in the
NYA-EVO range: the FJORD 60-C.
In the space of just one year, the FJORD 36 has
gone to some of the most spectacular, remote
and exhilarating places on Earth.
The FJORD 60-C: Fit more in, go even further
The C is for Carry-on
One thing all filmmakers and photographers can attest to is that gear is heavy, expensive and bulky, not leaving much space for other essentials. Not only does their gear need to be on-hand, but bags need to be sturdy enough to withstand some pretty extreme situations.
The FJORD C-60 balances these demands in a comfortable, adaptable CARRY-ON design. Fit more in, go even further.
NYA-EVO knows not every journey is the same. And a backpack should be able to adapt.
Top expansion pocket
Our new top and front expansion pockets allow you to transform the Fjord 60-C from a 44-litre Carry-On into a 52-litre adventure pack or into a 60-litre expedition mode. Here’s how:
Front expansion pocket
Get access to more, faster
Our one-of-a-kind quick-access top pocket is more
than it seems.
It’s expandable, water resistant and conveniently
separate from the main body of the backpack.
What’s a journey without comfort?
Packing heavier and going further means one thing: your backpack needs to be really comfortable. So NYA-EVO designed the FJORD 60-C with a torso height adjustment system to be just that.
More gear, less gear: pack what you need with our removable camera inserts (RCI)
Choose your size of RCI (small, medium or large) and you will always have enough space for other essentials on your adventures.
Everything in its place
Staying organised is key. Our compartment separator keeps your camera gear and your other essentials separate. It’s made of equally tough nylon and is water resistant.
Other techy details
Like we said, the FJORD 60-C represents a true evolution in our FJORD adventure backpack range. Its super tough aluminium frame is stacked with extra features, like new removable straps for snowboard, skis, poles, tripods, whatever external gear you can imagine; and a sewn-in waist belt to take the heavy load off your shoulders.
And more techy details because we love it!
(and because some kind folks pointed out that we forgot to show some important features of the bag so here we go...)
But it's not all about the bag
The best adventure photography equipment focuses on the user, not the gear. A credo we at NYA-EVO live by.
Every time a customer or team member sends through a picture from some far-flung corner of the globe, on an epic adventure with their NYA-EVO gear, we know we are on the right track.
It’s as simple as that. The FJORD 60-C was made so you can fit more in, go even further.

How to back this project?
Who are we?
NYA-EVO is strategically located in Brussels and Hong Kong. This means shipping to key markets, such as Europe and Asia, are fast and efficient.
For our EU customers, shipping from Brussels, Belgium, means you do not pay for import duties or any other extra charges.
For the rest of the world, Hong Kong is a global logistics hub with ultra-fast exports processing. Customers are advised to check their country’s customs office for any additional import duties.
To see more pictures and stories head over to our instagram and be sure to follow to keep up to date with the latest.
NYA-EVO’s mission to create world leading carry-on camera carrier gear could not
happen without our wonderful supporters. A huge THANK YOU to all our backers for supporting us
on our journey.
Risks and challenges
PRODUCT DUE DILIGENCE
We know how annoying it can be to buy products online but only receive them when it is too late. That is why NYA-EVO has expanded to create a second logistics hub for Europe in Brussels next to its already existing logistics center in Hong Kong. In addition, we have sourced two factories that are capable of producing high quality technical bags we demand.
Chinese New Year is early February 2019, which means that the months leading up to then are the busiest of the year for manufacturers. It is generally a month-long holiday which can cause delays in production.
For EU and nearby countries, NYA-EVO ships from our Belgian regional headquarters in Brussels. This means EU customers will NOT have to pay import VAT and duties. We will take care of that.
For the rest of the world, the products will be shipped from Hong Kong. We suggest you check with your local customs office for any import duties.
