Released in September 2011, Captive in the Dark, by CJ Roberts, has sold over 7,000 copies and has remained on Amazon’s Top 100, paid Erotica titles for over seven consecutive weeks and over 16 weeks since its release.
It's sequel, Seduced in the Dark, by CJ Roberts, is on course for a September 2012 release.
I need help to get it launched. There are posters and post-cards to be designed and printed. T-shirts for paperback launch party to be ordered. The printers have to be paid before finished books can be received.
I have quit my day job to focus on getting the sequel out on time and I don't have all the capital needed to launch the book signing. Would appreciate all the help. I know the book is going to be a great success, but it takes money to make money sometimes.
Here’s what people are saying about Captive in the Dark:
“[…] This book doesn't just make you feel, it violently manipulates everything you think you know about empathy, hatred, love, and compassion.”
“[…] This author will take you on an emotional roller coaster that will leave you feeling sympathetic, unnerved, curious, contemplative, and eager to experience the conclusion to this complex tale of redemption, revenge, and the true power of love.” –“Amber”, via Goodreads May 22, 2012
BUY IT, BUY IT, BUY IT!!!
“I don't usually write reviews, but after reading this book, I knew that I had to. This book is simply amazing! I wasn't quite sure what to expect when going into this book, but after reading the sample on my Kindle, I was hooked and had to find out what happened. And boy, am I glad I did! I stayed up until 3:00 in the morning to finish it.” –“Angel Bell”, via Amazon Sept 3, 2011
Unforgettable story that moves you and captivates you from start to finish
“Some have asked how it compares to Fifty Shades, and I say it's not at all a fair comparison. If I were asked to compare, I'd say where Christian is fifty shades of f*&ked up, Caleb is 150 shades. This is not an unforgettable love story that develops from a taboo lifestyle involving kinky f^&kery. No, Captive takes all of those disturbing things about dominance and [submission] that makes you cringe and just strips them bare until you have the most basic of animalistic behaviors left to contend with. And I think, to find the good, maybe even the love, in that...it's something very memorable” – “Swimmom4”, via Amazon April 28, 2012
For those of you overseas, if you purchase a copy and the project gets funded. The price for international shipping is a flat rate of $16.95. I have included $3 in the book price, so please add an additional $13.95 to your original pledge and I will ship to you overseas.
It will take extra time because of customs and such, so please be patient. I definitely don't want to exclude my overseas fans.
If I bought the paperback of CITD, and sent it to you, along with the $25 to purchase the preorder/autographed copy of SITD, would you also autograph CITD?
I have added an option for those wanting a matched set of paperback books. If you already have a paperback copy of CITD and you would like signed, I would absolutely be willing to do it. At this moment in time I do not have a PO Box, but I will get one shortly and post the address. Thank you, Lydia, for bringing this up. ;)
Yes. SITD will be published in the same places and in the same formats as CITD. There has been some issue with people finding the epub version via B&N, for whatever reason it is not listed there despite the fact Smashwords is the distributor. I am working on it. However, the epub IS available on the Smashwords page.
Amazon does not allow independent authors to pre-sell books. It sucks for reputable authors, but I understand why they do it and it's a good policy to have.
I will have to go through each order, so if you pledge an additional $14, I will know you would like both books. ;)
