Tabletop miniatures spiced up with high level of craftsmanship and humor, The Green Alliance Army is ready to storm a battlefield near you.
Here's a list of the confirmed sets with their "bullets" cost (read on for an info on all the models we have planned and may get unlocked during the campaign):
Mind the shipping costs - it depends on the number of "bullets" you spend ( the more bullets spent = the bigger teh package). To make things simple we have made 3 tiers:
TheGreenAlliance is a complete orc and goblins army designed to fit with most of the modern 28mm "heroic" miniatures ranges. We truly believe miniature hobby is a fun one - thus it should be coupled with great models. That's why we've decided to put years of our experience to work and bring an army that will stand apart from regular ones.
Thus we've laid out 'da plan' as follows:
We've figured out that being overly secretive about stretch goals makes no sense - we want to be clear what we want to achieve (that being said we have some surprises worked out ;) ).
So how can you get those models?
That's pretty simple - for every 1USD / 0.6GBP used to back the project you get a single bullet ( 1 USD or 0.6 GBP = 1 bullet) that you later on use to get models of your choice. Certain pledge levels give you some free, BONUS bullets - so you can get even more models for you army.
Each unit / model has its own bullets cost as presented in the table above (for example - unit of 10 gobbos cost 15 bullets).
This way you can get build an army you really want, not some predetermined set.
You can increase your pledge level and claim the bonus benefits anytime :) !
Here's a sample pledge so you can see it in action :) :
Apart from the list we will provide a spreadsheet that will calculate those for you.
What material the models are made of? They are a mixture of highest quality resin and white metal. This way we get the best of 2 worlds - finest looking miniatures and something that would withstand even harsh treatment on the tabletop. Most of the infantry units have metal bodies with resin heads and bits, while vehicles are primarily resin.
How much is done already? The basic units have been sculpted, moulded and after test cast run. The majority of remaining models are sculpted and waiting to be put in production.
And here's a small tease of the things that will get done when we reach appropriate stretch goals:
... and even more to be revealed during the campaign :) .
Why Kickstarter? Releasing a full army is not a small feat. When you add tooling and manufacturing costs of all the elements the costs start to skyrocket. Without your support we simply won't be able to take it to the level we want. On top of that our goal is to make it fairly priced with the highest quality possible. If we would have put it through regular distribution channels it would simply have to be on an expensive side. By offering those directly to you we can lower the price considerably.
Will the army be available outside Kickstarter? To some extent it probably will. But check the paragraph above - if it does, it will be more expensive than on Kickstarter as we will have to take distribution discounts into account.
Risks and challenges
What are the challenges? For the past couple of years MaxMini.eu team gained experienced bringing both resin and metal kits. Along the way we've restructured and introduced new technologies - to better serve our customers and to achieve great quality. We've made our share of mistakes, but we've learned from them and come out standing firm. But make no mistake - honestly, a whole army is a big undertaking requiring tremendous amount of work. Making models that are manufacturable is a different deal that designing one-offs. But as we do the whole manufacturing part inhouse we have much greater degree of control over the project - and we have required experience to make it right and on time. So the biggest challenge - fulfillment. Depending on the number of backers it can turn out we have to make and ship over the world more kits than we anticipated. This can cause some delays - but we have prepared plans to cope just in case. Some may be as simple as hiring more manpower, other include alternate materials we could use to make it happen. The idea is to start shipping models 3 months after the campaign completion, on a first-come-first served basis. This should give us enough time to finish the tooling and have the packages flying out of our workshop in a timely manner :) .Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
