Update#12: New Video, Environments

Hello everyone,

I wanted this update to be a gameplay video but unfortunately the car handling is not ready to show yet. Instead I would like to share a video showing the latest developments for the race tracks. Excuse me for the quite bad youtube compression.

As many of you might have already figured out the game won't be out this year, targeting more platforms as well as creating more cars and tracks than what was originally planned have led to a longer development cycle.

We are working hard to get the physics right and get rid of any bugs and unwanted behavior while also working on the AI and general game structure. It's quite a challenge but every day we are getting closer.

Probably the biggest undertaking for this project, the art assets, tracks and cars are close to 90% done which means there is enough time to polish and optimize in order to get the best possible results.

Thank you!

Nice looking video, hopefully it won't take that long to 2014 for the game to finished.

Waiting for the PC digital download. :-)

Also will be awesome to see this one in the Wii U eShop.

Anthony Miller you have a good point, with those large teams over time Ive been waiting for a revamp of Outrun or The original Ridge Racer with this look, maybe after a rest these guys could start a new project which il defo back

What are the other platforms your working on? Or too early to say

"Creating more cars and tracks than originally planned..." = GREAT! "Targeting more platforms..." = .... So this game that was almost solely going to be played on 1 gaming console (you know the one) will now appear on the others (you know who they are). Either way the game will come.

It's really sad and yet encouraging/exciting that a few people can make a game that an entire game developer with 100+ staff and decades of experience couldn't make in... well... decades!

Can one of those "more platforms" be the one with glasses-free 3D please?

great work, as usual! The tracks look soooo awesome!!! If I were Sega, I'd buy that game for a million dollars :D

BTW I just had an idea when I saw those skyscrapers. If you still have time, you could put a sign saying "EVL" on top of one of them, just like in Virtua Cop! That was the headquarters of the EViL guys in the game. If I remember it right, it was yellow letters on a black background...

      Simply amazing!
Hard to wait until The 90s Arcade Racer gets released but take the time you need to give us the racer we are looking for.
And of course, the music fits perfect. I felt directly like being jumped 20 years backwards.

Wow ! These tracks are part of those tracks where I would stop the car and wander in the environments on foot using a matrix-like VR if I could. Please take all the time you need to make this game, the awesomeness of the final game is worth the wait.

It looks awesome! The first track shown looks like an Initial D course in an OutRun 2 SP environment. Hopefully the road is wide enough (looks ok as there seems to be 4 lanes).

Massive achievement there, the video looks great. The footage looks very good especially given the small team team size.

Looking forward to playing the finished product and am glad you are taking the time to give it this level of polish.

      The environments look amazing. Congratulations.

About the release delay, it's totally fine by me. Take all the time you need to finish the game, don't rush to meet some delivery date.

Wonderful! Are there already system requirements (PC) available?
