Hello everyone,

I’m very happy with how everything has turned out since the kickstarter launched and now I’m in a very good position and have everything I need to finish the game. Thank you all so much!

Also thanks to Nicalis and their offer to help in all areas that would otherwise take a big amount of my time I can now confirm some features that are definitely going in:

  • 2 cars per car class and two extra bonus cars bringing the total to 8 cars.
  • 3 tracks, now with two routes each playable in normal or reverse and at two different times of day. There is also the possibility of a bonus track if the £20k goal is reached.
  • A drift point scoring system.
  • Arcade and Championship modes for each car class.
  • Leaderboards

Of course more features could end up in the game but can't be confirmed right now :)

Thank you!

Exactly Robert. Hopefully Pilikan will take these points into consideration. See you at Philip Island in the Skippy :)

I just have to ask: How many of you who went to the arcades in the 90s ever saw a lone racing cabinet? There were always two to four... hence, you really can't make a 90's arcade racer without multiplayer! ;)

What are the chances of online multiplayer on the wiiu version. Just wondering because from what I have seen it would work well for the game.

@Shaun - Great points, I couldn't agree more. One of the biggest attractions in the games of the 80s and 90s was the escapism. Look at Space Harrier, or OutRun. I hope T90AR reminds publishers and other devs that there is a big market for outrageous fun in games.

Awesome! The only thing I dont quite get, why only 2 extra bonus cars and not 3? I guess since the two available "backer cars" sold out first thing, you could easily find someone to help out with another 750 quid..?

I was looking forward to the final product anyway and with the latest update it's even better, so I'm pretty chuffed.

An interesting little thing here, I was watching a speech by Jesse Schell at Dice 2013 and he's talking about how everyone is looking searching for some kind of utopia, whether it's in video games, the choices they make or whatever.

Anyhoo, the underlying point was that a lot of companies these days use bullshit marketing to try convince you that they can give you that utopia only to let you down when you get the final product, when you realise it's nothing like the utopia they promised or you hoped for.

Now in relation to The 90's Arcade Racer, I saw the project when it first started and it instantly sold me with it's visuals, taking me back to the good old days at the arcades playing games like Virtua Racing and Daytona USA. What's interesting though is these games are like fantasy worlds full of colour and making you feel like a badass race car driver. It's completely over the top, exactly what I want from a racer, in fact it's my utopia for a driving game.

I find too many modern games, including racers, go for the realistic feel and as much as that can be fun, well it's just another version of reality in a lot of ways, the only difference is I get to control the cars. I play games to escape the mundane realities of real life so when games go for that hyper-realistic look, it's kind of defeating the point in my opinion.

Watch the speech http://www.youtube.com/watch…, Jesse explains it way better than I ever could but my overall point is that this games ticks the boxes on so many levels and I'm so happy Pelikan13 & Nicolis are making it and that it's been funded successfully. Would be great to see the £20k and I'd urge everyone to spread the word, but either way it's gonna be awesome.

Do you have any news for a online or LAN (we could use Hamachi then) multiplayer ?
