We've Got Stretch Goals!
We were incredibly lucky to hit our target of $2,040. But, since we still have quite a ways to go, we've decided to add in some fun stretch goals!
If we raise an additional $500 ($2,540), we'll throw in an exclusive sticker with the Hellcat Press logo for everyone who ordered a poster or a hard copy of the book.
If we reach $3,000, we'll add an exclusive Hellcat Press magnet (in addition to the sticker) for everyone who ordered a poster or a hard copy of the book.
And if we make it all the way to $3,200, we'll add in an exclusive Hellcat Press temporary tattoo, along with the magnet and the sticker.
We are so excited to have the funding for "Screams Heard 'Round the World." Any and all extra money we make will go directly to our wonderfully talented contributors.
What is Hellcat Press?
In 2014, I co-founded Hellcat Press because I wanted to combine my love of comics with my love of the horror genre. We wanted to create horror comic anthologies that would keep people awake at night.
We've done that three times, but we need your help to do it again.
Screams Heard 'Round the World
Our newest anthology, "Screams Heard 'Round the World," features the work of writers and artists from around the world. For this anthology, we asked contributors to take a myth or legend about a monster from a non-American country and craft a story inspired by it.
From the deceptive Kelpies of Scotland to the mischievous Nekomata of Japan to the hypnotic Duppy Bird of Jamaica -- this anthology has something terrifying for everyone.

Here at Hellcat Press, we believe in our contributors. We appreciate their creativity, and we are honored that they are sharing with us. We believe in paying our contributors and allowing them to retain the copyright to their work. We've set aside the money to pay our contributors even if this Kickstarter fails. The funds from this Kickstarter will go to our final printing and distribution costs. Extra funds will be evenly distributed back to the artists in recognition of their hard work.
The bulk of our money will go to our creators. We need to pay them and we need to ship them each a copy of "Screams Heard 'Round the World." Because we have contributors from all over the world, the shipping will be expensive.
We have some super fun rewards for our backers.
We're also offering custom art done by local artists Laura Bearl, Jay Kennedy, Jonny Bloozit, Dan Neville, Bill Imbrogna, and Steve Coughlin. For $150, you will receive a drawing of you (yes, you!) being mauled, chased, or devoured by the monster of your choice. You will receive this drawing digitally. You will also receive a copy of "Screams Heard 'Round the World."
Here are some samples of their amazing art:
Have you got a killer idea for a novel, short story, screenplay, or comic trapped in your head? For $200, I'll help you get it out of your noggin and onto paper! I love collaborating and brainstorming with people, and I love seeing other people get their creative projects off the ground. To me, nothing is sadder than a dynamite idea that you can't get out of your head and onto paper where it belongs. Now, I can't guarantee that your work will be published, but, I'll do everything in my power (limited as it is) to help you get it written down.
Where Will My Money Go?
Most of it will go to our creators. Once the book is funded, printed, and shipped to our contributors, the leftover money will be divided evenly amongst them.
We're asking for $2,040. Here's how that's going to break down:
$440 will go to our creators
$100 will go to printing the exclusive posters for this Kickstarter campaign
$800 will go to printing "Screams Heard 'Round the World"
$700 will go to Kickstarter fees, shipping fees, and creator bonuses.
Risks and challenges
The book is completed and assembled. All we need to do now is get it printed and shipped to the contributors.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
