Hi, my name is Jackie Duckworth, and I am an artist and illustrator. As well as making art to hang on the wall, I love to make and design all kinds of other things – including T shirts. In fact, one of the add-ons in my first kickstarter was a T shirt!
They are all original designs, based on artwork I have made, and I have them screen printed locally. People like my T shirts, but I am a very small business. I don’t sell through shops, I don't have much storage space. I make a limited edition of just 50 – 75 shirts.
Getting a new design printed is a big outlay for me and a big risk. So I decided to run a Kickstarter. It has one reward only – my new T shirt design.
The image is based on my original linocut of the castle of Tintagel, with local flowers, Cornish choughs and seabirds. I love castles, and I particularly love Tintagel, with its complex history and the myths that surround it. I think it will make a beautiful shirt.
My goal is pitched so that I can order a batch of at least 50 basic grey shirts including shipping without making a loss. If I make my goal there will then be add-ons so that you can choose some other colours and styles of garment - hoodies, v-necks etc.
There are a range of sizes available but before pledging do look at the charts below to double check I can get shirts in your size.
The Tintagel shirt will still be a limited edition of between 50 and 75, depending on how many supporters I get. Special colours and hoodies and so on will ONLY be available through this Kickstarter.
So, it’s up to you. If you would like a Tintagel Tshirt, this may be your only chance!
Risks and challenges
I am confident that I can deliver this project. The design work is complete, and I have a reliable screen printer that I have used several times before. My previous Kickstarter was a success, too!
The only possible issues are in timing if it take me longer than expected to collect all the 'add on' information I need.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
