About this project
I began writing this story in the 9th grade, I thought I'd make it short, just a little something that interested me. I began on wattpad which helped get the story around, and I just kept writing more and more, adding more chapters, gaining new ideas, changing plots, changing characters, giving them each their own personality and their own role, and then finally, deciding the ending was the hardest. Finally, 4 years later, the book is completed and ready to be published, and that's when I found out how hard it is to actually publish a book. I'm hoping kickstart will help me with that, so here's what the book is about, along with a sneak peek.
Eva Lockhart, vampire of the Kairi tribe, never even dreamed of crossing the border, a river that seperates her tribe from the Theon tribe. Not only is it against the law, but it puts her life in danger. Everyone knows that the tribe on the other side of the border are ruthless, not to be in contact with. "Darkness is born and bred there" her father had said. But when her younger sister, Avery, takes the dare to run across the border and back, putting her life in danger, Eva must cross over to stop her and bring her back. From there, things go bad when Eva gets caught by Darien, a handsome protector from the other tribe and taken to their prison for a death sentence.
But when a common enemy attacks the Theon tribe, and accidentally sets her free, will she stay and fight, or run back to her tribe? Can the two tribes have their differences be put aside to save eachother?
When Darien offers to further train Eva, will they develop more than just skills?

"Too slow, your enemy will predict your move before you even think of it," Darien said as he caught Eva's arm.
He pulled her towards him suddenly, her back was against his chest, her arms in an X formation against her chest with his arms holding hers harshly. She felt his lips against her ear. "Your enemy will not think twice to crush you, and this is one of the many positions they can put you in before ripping out your throat," his hold on her loosened a bit, but his lips didn't leave her ear "You have to be unpredictable, try again."
As he let go slowly, she stepped away from him and took a deep breath. As exhausted as she felt, she couldn't catch a break. Eva took another deep breath, Darien stood two feet in front of her as she decided to try something different. She got into a fighting stance, then slowly, reached her right arm out to punch him, but quickly ducked and dragged her right leg under him as he collapsed backwards. As soon as he was on his back, she jumped on top of him pinning both his arms with her knees, and placed her elbow gently against his throat.
"Hows that for unpredictable?" she said, Darien chuckled.
"Well it's about time," he said.
"I wanted to see how long it would take before you did something… unpredictable. And that was really good but-"
In one swift move, he rolled her over onto her back, set himself on top of her and grabbed both her hands and pinned them against the ground over her head, then put his left hand against her throat. "Don't forget that men, are just a little bit stronger than you, and very unforgiving. You have to have a backup move, always" he said, his lips inches away from hers.
She laughed and smiled up at him, "Okay, I'll definitely have reason to remember that."
"Good," he chuckled. His eyes fell down to her lips, his hand slowly glided down her throat as he looked back up at her. He leaned down cautiously, and she leaned up the rest of the way until their lips touched.
Hope you enjoyed, help me fund this story to get it published so I can share the entire story with everyone. Thank you!
Risks and challenges
If I reach my goal, it might take a while to get the book on the stands, getting the story out there so that people will want to buy it. I sincerely hope this book is successful, it means the world to me and I think many readers will love the story.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
