For 10 years, Fear the Boot has brought some of the best RPG podcasting the Internet had to offer and for nearly as along, Fear the Con has been there for a smbut dedicated international community to gather their gaming books and dice bags and head to St. Louis for good times and better games.
On June 23rd and 24th of 2017, we are pleased to be hosting the new and improved Fear the Con 10: X-CON. Things are a little different than they have been in previous years, but we are still dedicated to bringing you the best gaming convention we can offer. This is where you guys come in!
We have calculated our funding based on expenses from last year's DruCon and assure you that every penny we receive will go directly back into the convention. Any surplus will be rolled over to help fund future conventions in subsequent years. We decided to offer fewer reward levels so to allow us to better focus on bringing you the best convention we possibly clan. Here are our goals and what we will offer with each of our subsequent stretch goals:
Cardboard Tier: Baseline goal is $1,600 – entirely bare bones, just a good sized conference room and our smiling faces.
Plastic Tier: $2,200 – Big Damn Con Badges and the above.
Wood Tier: $3,300 – Mikey Mason, 1 additional gaming room, and above.
Bronze Tier: $3,800 – A mixer for those that donate $25 or more, and above.
Silver Tier: $4,800 – A convention suite stocked with snacks and beverages, a second large conference room in place of the aforementioned small room, and above.
Gold Tier: $6,300 – World Wide Wing Night and above.
Platinum Tier: $6,900 – A dedicated vendor's room, all the available conference rooms at the hotel, and all of the above.
Plutonium Tier: $7,900 – A reasonable thank you gifts for all GMs, and all of the above.
Printer Ink Tier: $10,000 – Attendee swag bag and all the above.
We are excited to be able to bring this convention to life again this year; and hope you all have a great time gaming and meeting and seeing old friends again.
Thank you to the donors who have supported this con in the past, present, and future. Thank you for the gamemasters who make the games possible. And, of course, thank you to everyone who attends that makes this convention something to look forward to each year.
Risks and challenges
One of the amazing things about Fear the Boot and Fear the Con is the sense of community that has sprung up in the last ten years and the amount of diligence and support the community has shown over the years. Without the support of the community, there is no Fear the Boot and, in a very real way, there is no Fear the Con. That is right friends -- without at least a bare-bones commitment, there can be no Fear the Con this year -- something I'd like to avoid if at all possible.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
