TV PILOT: The Wonder Years II
At their high school reunion; a widowed, Kevin and a divorced Winnie reunite. Ten years later their daughter has a story to tell.
We're here trying to raise funds to finish the development of and to film a pilot episode and featurette of the Wonder Years II which will then be presented to major networks to be picked up. We are trying to raise $18,000 for the proper cameras, props, location fee's and talent. We will also use the funding to purchase a proper video editing system and the needed software.
The Wonder Years II is a half-hour situational drama/comedy series; an edgy spin-off of the hit 80's/90's television series, the Wonder Years. It takes place some twenty years into the future of Kevin and Winnie; who reunited at their ten year class reunion. This story revolves around their coming-of-age adolescent daughter Madison who has Asperger's. It is through her future self that the stories are narrated; much like its predecessor did with Kevin, her dad.
The Featurette is designed to answer many questions left by the original series as well as to clarify how Winnie and Kevin could find themselves back together. The featurette walks viewers through the reunification; the proposal; the wedding and the birth of their daughter Madison.
The Pilot takes place some ten years after that (c.1996). Madison is now entering the sixth grade. She is learning about life and how to survive in it; while at the same time she deals with the same issues that other girls her age are dealing with.
If interested; this series will feature both Fred Savage and Danica McKellar; as well as others from the original series. It will hopefully also guest star Brent Spiner as a reoccurring role as Dr. Charles Lindsey; Madison's psychologist.
Risks and challenges
This project counts on the original talent Fred Savage and Danica McKellar signing on to reprise their roles as Kevin and Winnie in the new series.
Because this would be a spin-off on someone else's work; it also relies on the entities who own the copyright and trademark, 20th Century Fox Television, to approve the series and an for an affiliated network to buy it.
In other words it has to be GREAT to begin with.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
