How far would you go to be successful? Anton Thorpe paid the ultimate price to succeed. He lost his family, his career, his fiance and was left deformed and hunted. Anton now searches for answers and a cure. But, he's met with past foes as well as new threats. Anton must now once again ask himself.... How far will he go to be successful?
Former Pro wrestler, Anton Thorpe started taking an undetectable experimental drug that his adopted father had developed. The drug merges human DNA with animal DNA. Which would help humans to be able to heal themselves at rapid speeds. It would increase a humans strength almost tenfold, a human could regrow appendages like reptiles. This would move humans to the next step in the evolutionary stage. By isolating the properties of these survival instincts and abilities from different animal DNA mankind would become somewhat super human. Anton agreed to help fund this research by becoming the most powerful and entertaining wrestler there is. More popularity means more money in pro wrestling. More money, means more research and manufacturing of said drug.
After a series of events Anton and his father's plan began to fall apart. Until one night, an unforeseen tragedy took place. Which resulted in a Hit-man breaking into Anton's father laboratory, Anton overdosing and Anton's father loosing his life. Anton now seeks answers as to who sent this Hit-man, how to fix what has happened to him, all while trying to piece together his now broken life.
Man-Muth, this is my creation from back in the mid 90's. I originally created him as a villain but I loved the look and decided to make him the main character, the hero of the story.
I've been creating my own comic books since I was in middle school. I would draw on copy paper and staple the drawings together. I've loved comic books every since my mother gave me my first books one Christmas. She knew I loved drawing but she wanted me to do more reading so she thought buying me comics would get me to read more....she was right!
Over the years, I've had the opportunity to work on many projects. I'm a portrait artist, I've illustrated children's books, I've designed logos, t shirts, tattoos etc. But, I've always come back to comic books. This is one of my first loves as an artist. That brings us back to Man-Muth.
I have written, drawn and inked issue number 1 of 4 of my Man-Muth series. I'm now in the color, effects and lettering process. With all of the ups and downs that life brings. I find myself in a situation where I need help to print my comic book. That brings me to Kick Starter. I've backed a number of independent creators and I truly believe that some of the most creative stories come from the indies.
With this Kick Starter I hope to continue to prove that to be true and bring everyone something that will entertain and excite them.
Risks and challenges
Once we are funded and we can move forward with printing and beyond. I see no reason for any set backs once the funds are there. D.M.Eason is the creator, writer, illustrator, inker, colorist and letterer. So,once the financial part is handled, it's full steam ahead.
If we are funded more than the target goal (which would be awesome). Those funds will go towards the production of issue number 2 and beyond. More specifically it will help pay for paper, inks, posters and possibly clay to build sculptures with...I did tell you that I sculpt as well, didn't I? Well, I also sculpt and I've been working on a Man-Muth sculpture and any funds beyond our goal will help me finish that as well.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
