Do you know what would happen if you mix the flavors of Russian food from childhood memories with the California sun, add the flavor of Indian spices, the secrets of Ayurveda and a little inspiration?
You might say: - Incredible!
Our guests say: - Incredibly delicious!
The Cookbook : Russian House #1 Culinary Secrets
This is a unique spin on Russian cuisine: Russian fusion with a California accent. Each recipe from the book contains a twist that makes the dishes interesting and delicious.
At Russian House#1 any guest can try their hand at cooking. We see how inspiring it is for people to be able to create something of their own, how it boosts their confidence and sharpens their skills.
Our guests often ask us to share with them our recipes so they can cook their favorite dishes from Russian House #1 at home. This is the main reason why we decided to publish this book: We want to share our secrets so that everyone can create a restaurant-like dish at home.
What can be easier than this simple, "hard-to-say-no-to" invitation: let's make a meal together.
We think that cooking is a great bonding activity that is fun and is easy to arrange.
We carefully selected our best recipes so that friends and families can nourish their souls by coming together and spending time with people they love, and can nourish their bodies by eating healthy and nutritious food.
The idea for Russian House#1 Culinary Secrets, the Cook Book started after many of our guests had repeatedly asked us to share our recipes so they could make them at home.
We began to receive feedback from all over California about their experience. People claimed that cooking was fun and more like a game than a tedious chore, called our dishes "family and home oriented", were happy to finally be able to cook what they truly wanted. It is their enthusiastic comments that inspired us to create a cookbook featuring our most asked for recipes
In our book we share ideas - not rigid guidelines - and we invite you to join our community of co-creation.
Although our approach to cooking is more creative than scientific, the ever so common "Wow!" reaction to the first bite tells us that we are onto something.
Our book can be a great source of inspiration for your fusion cuisine experiments and can awaken your creative culinary spirits
Many recipes in the book go back to our childhood. It took us some time to find American food alternatives and recreate those dishes with the same familiar home flavor, but it turned out well!
We like to cook and we like to experiment but we are not professional chefs by any means. Our culinary style is shaped by the nostalgia for the scrumptious meals lovingly cooked by our moms and grandmas, as well as traveling the world and getting to know various foods and cuisines.
As a result, we created our own signature recipes that are memorable, unique and taste great.
Sometimes our guests come in with their mothers to share family traditions. We are always deeply touched by the wisdom of their stories and learn with gratitude from the people who were feeding the communes all over the world.
Those are real family treasures: every housewife, using basic ingredients, slightly changed the recipe according to the taste preference of her family, and so a recipe, modified from generation to generation, became better and better.
Some of these jewels found their way in our menu and our cookbook.
Our recipes are not just unique, but also very healthy!
Organic, gluten-free, dairy-free, fat-free, vegan; there are so many ways that people choose to nourish themselves that challenge the norms of traditional Russian cooking.
Sometimes, our guests, like the goat farmer next door, bring us ingredients that we’ve never incorporated before! How do we do it? Support our new book to find out

Our chef Polina studied Ayurveda while she was traveling extensively in India and she shared her experience with Russian House # 1 Culinary secrets, The CookBook.
"Ayurveda teaches that everyone has enough strength to make themselves healthy. Adhering to the principles of Ayurveda, you can not only improve your body, but also achieve inner harmony. This is an entire science which answers the following questions: How to feed a sad person? What dish will add energy to an apathetic or depressed individual? What do you need to eat to worry less? How do you nourish your mind body and spirit? "
Chef - Polina K.
Our attentive readers will find an Ayurvedic description and classification under each recipe.

It is our second attempt to gather funds for this book. The first attempt didn't get the support we needed, but since then we have been contacted by a publishing company that is interested in partnering with us in getting the book published.
We have already put in significant effort in creating photos, partial design and partial translation of recipes, allowing us to reduce the expenses three-fold!
Now we are gathering funds for:
- Editing, design & layout ($2500)
- Kickstarter fee ($300)
- Translation ($500)
We are grateful to the participants of the previous Kickstarter for supporting us and for spreading our idea.
We also hope you will support us again and it will work out this time around. Please, come to Russian House # 1 for a cup of very special Russian herbal tea! This offer is valid eternally.
