It is too bad to hear that some people had trouble receiving their comics! It's been a while since I got mine but I believe it was shipped flat in a cardboard sleeve. Anyway -- any word on issue #2???
finally got the original page.
Finally got my comic (luckily it was mailed in a flat envelope) and my three prints. I still have not received the original penciled page from the comic (which is the main thing I wanted).
Curious to know if anyone that pledged $75+ received all of their rewards...?
@moneyhorse...an update regarding the status of future issues would be greatly appreciated, as the higher level pledge rewards are dependent on having their "likeness" in future issues. I did receive my comic (rolled up, unfortunately), and even knowing that the future issues are in the works would be a nice reassurance, at least in digital form if nothing else.
June 12th and still nothing to show for my pledge of $250.
Here it is June 5th and still no comic or original pages from the book. I have sent messages and received no replies.
Thanks for the update Kevin and glad you got your rewards. I can't believe he is rolling the comic up, that is just stupid and disrespectful to his backers that helped him get it done. I still haven't seen anything but will update if I do, I really want that original artwork and pray he doesn't damage it.
Well I've just received my rewards ROLLED up in a tube. Slightly creased on some edges. Glad its over but still rolling up a comic is insane. Everyone knows you send comics flat in a hard backed envelope maybe in a protective sleeve to protect against rain.
I know I should be more thankful but I honestly did not think I would actually get the rewards so all I can do is nitpick at the problems.
Am I ungrateful? Yes. Is it unwarranted? No.
Hopefully Mike you should be getting yours soon. I just hope to god he didn't roll up the original art work. As that would be disrespectful not only to you for paying the amount you did for it but also to Carlos who created the art in the first place.
@kevin - just came the day before i wrote the note (so about 6 days ago). yea, the more i think about it, the more annoyed I get about it getting rolled in a tube. if he doesn't care, why should we?
Hey Kevin; April 29th is correct. I have lost hope too.
Mike: You mean April 29th? if so I don't understand how he could be sending out parcels that morning if they were supposedly all sent around early february (from last update)
But if its true we just have to see. I'm from the UK so I have to wait 4+ weeks anyway regardless. If it arrives its a bonus, if not well I lost hope about a week ago.
I say get in contact with him again about the rewards as something over $100 should have been given a tracking code or something like that. Maybe get in contact with the artist ask if he's sent the art to Jeff for posting. Its worth a shot in any case.
I hope you get your rewards Mike. I'm only missing a comic, print and behind-the-scenes PDF I'd be more angry if I had pledge the amount you have.
Kevin; on 4-29 I received a response from Jeff saying
All the remaining rewards went out this morning. thanks for your patience. Let me know when you get it.
Still, I have nothing. I pledged 2 of the $125 level, this would have included a lot of cool perks including orginal penciled pages from the book. He has never addressed these items with me and it appears from his response that I am just out of luck on the perks. From the looks of things, I am probably never going to see anything from this guy (I hope he proves me wrong though).
Brad- did you just get your rewards this week or has it been a while? Also thats bad everyone knows not to transport comics in a tube thats like comic book care 101.
I've sent 2 KS messages and 1 email and got nothing at all in reply. I'm basically calling it that he's just sent the parcels and has wiped his hands from any responsibility to making sure all backers receive their rewards.
The Moneyhorse website is just a static page, the companies twitter account is not used and they have several profiles on company sites (angel.co, pixeljoint etc) so Jeff is active just not caring.
I'm annoyed as this is the second project that has this problem of rewards not getting to the backers but the creator of that one is at least trying to sort it out, responding to emails and looking into the misplaced parcels.
Got my prints and comic, other than the comic being rolled in a tube, its good. It's all bent, creased and looks read. Generally not a good idea to send a comic in a rolled tube, but it was a good read.
I haven't received the physical comic either...
I have received the actual physical comic but not the behind the scenes PDF. I have not received any replies to messages either.
I don't think thats what happened. There are several people on here saying they've got their rewards both in the US and UK. Near $4k can print 200 copies of the issue and however many prints plus p+p easily (Going by other projects I've backed with similar goals).
He may have run out of money or something and is just afraid to tell us we aren't getting anything for backing him except a pit in our stomach from getting ripped off. I have even tried emailing him at email@example.com (the address on the BLE blog) the last update on there was October 16th 2012. I wish he would just let us know if we got screwed or not, at least I could quit thinking about it.
I'm in the same camp. Only have the PDF and messaged him a week ago but no reply so far
Anyone else not received their book or rewards? I am without anything but the PDF copy and the creator wont reply to my messages to him.
Thank you! Awesome story and awesome art! Thank you again!
My copy has also arrived. I love it. Hope it turns into an ongoing series.
My copy arrived yesterday, great comic and hope you get a series out of it!
Got mine today. It's Gorgeous! XD XD
Have the signed books been sent out quite yet? Just curious =)
Really looking forward to the work, especially love the storyworld you've created.
got my figures, look great- now they just need some books ;-)
Congrats on reaching funding!!!
Congratulations on your success!
Success! Looking forward to reading this in October.
We did it!
Thanks everyone. I will be in touch about the rewards.
@Moneyhorse: Thanks, but I've not created a project.
Just two more hours to go!
Thanks guys! Stretch goals are just to see how much I can get in the next few hours. My mind is already on sending out the rewards. Oh congrats to you too, Coniah Grimes. I wish I had seen yours before it ended.
Happy I found this one before it closed - it looks really good!
Congrats on hitting the goal!
Glad to see the project will be funded. I'm also curious as to any stretch goals, as MacInnis mentioned.
Any stretch goals, Jeff? We're closing in on 3K pretty quickly!
Congratulations on the successful funding. Really looking forward to the first issue.
Congrats to Jeff and the rest of the BLE team!
Wow! funded successfully with 6 days left! Thank you so much for believing in the project and the team. We won't let you down.
YES we got it over the $2500 goal! so worth it :)
I missed the first Kickstarter but I'm here this time around. The story and art look great and wish I could pledge more. Now off to spread the word so we can get issue #1 and hopefully the whole mini series!
Here's a better group pic of the custom figures you can get at the $100 pledge level:
These are fully repainted Minimates which are 2" tall and have 14 points of articulation. They have been painted using Citadel paints and have been clear-coated but I recommend that they only be displayed as over using the joints causes the paint to flake and chip. The sniper rifle was perhaps the most fun to make - I cobbled it together using 3 other Minimate guns, 2 Minimate axe blades, and the shaft of a Lego trident!
Here's Sparrow complete with wings:
Here are custom Minimates of the Light Combat Uniform, Sparrow, and General Ying:
I've been working on these for a while since the source art is so detailed (thanks Carlos!). Anyway, I hope you guys like them!
@Coniah Grimes: Agreed! Alt histories and futures rock.
I'm excited about this project.
