I Saw You - The Music Video!
Youth in a Roman Field explores reconciliation, connection, and acceptance via ghosts, nature, fever dreams, and our younger selves.
This project will only be funded if it reaches its goal by Wed, September 26 2018 4:00 PM UTC +00:00.
My name is Claire, and I lead the ghost folk band Youth in a Roman Field. We've been making music in New York and Chicago for six years now, and have funded both our full-length records on Kickstarter with help from you - our generous supporters and fans!
This Spring, we released 'Storm Conductor,' which was co-produced by the incredible Stewart Lerman and funded by YOU (and my credit card)!
This Fall, we'll be releasing our very first music video, and we need your help to do it.
The video will feature the record's second single, 'I Saw You,' which I wrote in New Orleans on January 20, 2016 and has been my favorite writing experience to date. The song is incredibly important to me, and I'm thrilled to have it be the first one we support with a visual story.
We shot the footage over a whirlwind weekend last July, with the help of our friend Jared Mezzocchi and the amazing kids at Andy's Summer Playhouse. The theatre provided us with the necessary resources, and I had a small budget for travel, food, costumes, and props. However, we need additional funding to finish this baby and get this it out there! The money raised will pay for editing, color correction, publicity, and rewards shipping.
Any remaining funds (woohoo stretch goals!) will go towards closing the gap on the production of our beautiful vinyl records, which are available in our rewards packages!
Thank you all for supporting us over the years. We love you and couldn't do it without you. Gratefully,
Claire and Youth in a Roman Field
Risks and challenges
Budgeting, budgeting, always budgeting. Things always take longer and cost more than anticipated, but the great news is I'm learning all the time and getting better at creative problem solving :) We have a great editor on board, as well as a publicist and a host of friends with resources to help us solve any unforseen issues.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
