About this project
In 1990, horror legend Clive Barker gave us "Nightbreed," a film about finding the beauty of the macabre in a world of misunderstood monsters. For appreciators of the movie, one character would stand out as the most terrifying and fascinating piece of this intricate world: DR. PHILIP K. DECKER, a psychotherapist by day, masked serial killer by night. For years, we've wanted to see Dr. Decker make his return to the screen, and with your help, we can make it happen.
DR. DECKER is more than just a spin-off fan film, it's a way for us to expand the "Nightbreed" universe, and realize a cinematic dream twenty years in the making.
PLOT OUTLINE:Before the events of "Nightbreed" were to unfold, Dr. Philip K. Decker embarked on a killing spree, unlike any the world had ever known. Now, those infamous days before Midian will come to life as we chronicle his story. On the outside, he's a quiet, seemingly normal guy; but on the inside, a bloodlust rages from deep within his soul that cannot be contained. He believes death to be the ultimate end but his reign of terror is just beginning!
The film is already written and will be directed by the filmmaking team of Matthew Gilbert and Mark Monstroski, both graduates of the Pratt Institute's Media Arts discipline who now work in network television. We will be going into production this Summer, in New York City. Casting and location scouting are both currently underway. With your donations, we can successfully cover equipment rental costs, secure the necessary props, costumes, and FX, take care of our hardworking cast and crew on-set, and enter film festivals.
