A prototype is a preliminary model of something. Projects that offer physical products need to show backers documentation of a working prototype. This gallery features photos, videos, and other visual documentation that will give backers a sense of what’s been accomplished so far and what’s left to do. Though the development process can vary for each project, these are the stages we typically see:
Proof of Concept
Explorations that test ideas and functionality.
Functional Prototype
Demonstrates the functionality of the final product, but looks different.
Appearance Prototype
Looks like the final product, but is not functional.
Design Prototype
Appearance and function match the final product, but is made with different manufacturing methods.
Production Prototype
Appearance, function, and manufacturing methods match the final product.

These photos and videos provide a detailed look at this project’s development.
The BOLDR Expedition automatic field watch is a tough, ever ready companion for your next adventure. With a military-inspired design, the Expedition has some of the key features that made the field watch a tactical timepiece, dating back to World War II. So whether for work or play, the Expedition is here to join your journey.
BOLDR Expedition Kilimanjaro
Sturdy on the outside, sleek on the inside
Built tough, the BOLDR Expedition comes in a 316L stainless steel machined case rated up to 20ATM, with dual screw-down crowns to adjust the time/date and the inner crown bezel, used to mark countdowns, time elapsed or for use as a compass (here's a great article showing you how). The Expedition is powered by an automatic Sellita SW200-1 movement, featuring a hacking seconds hand, supported by diashock to keep it ticking no matter what the mission.
BOLDR Expedition Everest
Glance at your time on the go
As a field watch, the Expedition is rugged right off the bat, with a high-contrast display that allow quick time-telling at a glance thanks to the matte dial with printed logo and subtitles and inner minute track. If night time excursions are your thing, the Expedition has you covered with swiss superluminova hour markers in two-tone lume colours for quick legibility in low light. The second screw-down crown features a bright orange rim for quick differentiation, and controls a rotating brass inner dial ring bezel with printed markings and indexes.

The Expedition is stealthily stylish, great for adding an element of toughness to those formal occasions. It’s available in 6 striking colours, and comes with a canvas strap, calf leather lining, and brass eyelets for the military feel. The lens on the Expedition is our iconic BOLDR double domed sapphire crystal, with AR (anti-reflective) coating on the underside. The caseback is also sapphire crystal with our signature caseback artwork - allowing you both a look into the inner mechanisms of the watch, as well as putting an interactive piece of art on your wrist.

Some countries or postal services are known for being slow with customs or shipping - but we do our best to make sure our products are shipped out on time (or often, early). We always endeavour to keep you up to date on shipping information, but we hope you understand that once the product leaves our hands - there’s often little we can do to speed things up with our shipping partners or your country’s customs department. When manufacturing physical goods, production delays are a very real problem. While we’ve never experienced that before with our manufacturers, we would like to assure you that if we do experience any delays, it would be due to us ensuring that we’re delivering the best product with the best quality possible. However, once our campaign closes, we promise to deliver what you’ve bought - and will keep everyone abreast of any and all changes in timeline (if any).
