We are proud to announce the news: "The Waiter Project" has been selected to be a part of the Dream Up Festival at Theater for the New City this year. (http://www.theaterforthenewcity.net/dreamup.htm)
After having successfully funded the reading series here, on Kickstarter, which helped tremendously to showcase "The Waiter Project" to a great number of people, we are back.
Theater for the New City takes upon a role of a presenter, and a heavy financial burden lies upon us. Therefore we turn to you.
"The Waiter Project" is not just a play about waiting tables. Rather it is a modern existential idea that examines time, agency and reality. The play tells the tale of eight down and out waiters working in New York City who have their lives pulled into focus when a Reality TV network shoots a series based on their lives within the restaurant. The play explores the duality we experience while working survival jobs as well as the element of waiting in general.
Your help here will give an opportunity to a great number of artists involved leave their survival jobs and walk onto the stage to tell you THEIR story. A story of continuous, never-ending fight for the right to live creative lives.
Your donation will help us pay for:
· Actor’s time
· Rehearsal space rental
· Technical equipment rental associated with the film aspect of the play
· Back-stage crew’s time
· Set rental
THANK YOU. THANK YOU. THANK YOU.
