Hi everybody! My newest CD THROUGH THE RAIN is in it's final stages and needs your help to be completed. The $20 donation level gets you a copy of this CD mailed to directly to you. Other rewards include my entire CD catalog, a "thank you" in the liner notes of the new CD, and house concerts.
There are many challenges facing independent musicians. Coming up with the necessary funds for making high quality recordings and releasing new music is one of them. I was able to bring this project to it's current state and now I'm trying to bring it on home! Aside from being the name of a song, I wanted to call this record THROUGH THE RAIN as that term conjurs up images of reaching the end of a journey or getting through a hard time in your life. I had many trying experiences in my life during the recording process (as well as some really good ones!) so I felt it seemed like an obvious choice for the title of the record. You can check out the song THROUGH THE RAIN and a couple other of the NEW SONGS that will be on the record on my Reverbnation page. http://www.reverbnation.com/alastairgreene
THROUGH THE RAIN is a collection of Classic Rock, Southern Rock, and Hard Rock influenced songs that I've written over the years. You will still hear a strong Blues influence but this is not a Blues record. I started recording some of these songs in 2005. Since then I took a break to release a blues CD (Walking In Circles) in 2009 but have been back at work and I'm nearly finished! I am looking forward to sharing this collection of songs with you. The songs have been recorded with an INCREDIBLE cast of musicians including: DRUMMERS: Tom Lackner and George Pendergast BASSISTS: Misha Feldmann and Jim Rankin HARMONY VOCALS: Chris Chalk GUEST GUITARIST: Ty Tabor from King's X ! ! !
The final stages of this project that I need help funding are:
Final Mixing with Robinson Eikenberry: I have a couple minor changes and the mixing is done. I'm very happy as this tends to be the longest phase of the album process and we're 90% there. Robinson has worked with an amazing list of local and national artists. I have worked with Robinson in some way or another on all the CDs I have put out. He is a magician in the studio and a pleasure to work with.
Mastering with Sean McCue: This is where all the tracks are sequenced and the final over-all volume levels are adjusted and pressed onto a "Master Disc". You may remember Sean as a member of the Santa Barbara band Summercamp. He makes great music and has an amazing ear for mastering.
Artwork with Cowan Communication Arts: David Cowan will be helping me with the layout and art before everything gets sent off to be turned into CDs. Besides being an incredible graphic artist Dave also fronts the roots rocking band Claude Hopper. Dave did all the design for my previous CDs A Little Wiser and Walking In Circles.
CD Duplication: This is the final step in getting your CD done. The best deal tends to be getting 1,000 CDs pressed up at a time. I will be using Disc Makers for CD duplication. They did a great job on my last CD Walking In Circles.
Promotion with Doug Deutsch Publicity Services: Without promotion, people tend to not even know a CD exists. This is a huge ongoing part of the process and any money raised above my goal will continue to go towards promotion such as possible radio and magazine ads depending on funds raised. I have been working with Doug Deutsch for close to 10 years and he is one of the hardest working publicists in the business!
Thanks for taking a look at my Kickstarter Project!!! I hope you enjoy the music.
