We are raising the bar for barbeque in the Pacific Northwest by bringing true Central-Texas style methods and traditions to downtown Vancouver, Washington. The Smokin' Oak is a full-service barbeque restaurant and full bar serving the highest quality meats, ingredients, beers, wines and cocktails. Our family has been perfecting our techniques and recipes in the Austin, TX area for over 75 years. The secret is in the simplicity. We are cutting no corners and cooking everything outside on two massive offset barrel smokers that we have designed and built ourselves. We use only the clean smoke from burning, not smoldering, Oregon White Oak with absolutely zero gas, electric or charcoal assistance. Once you have tasted the difference, there is no going back.

Risks and challenges
Most people are probably aware of the risks and challenges associated with opening a restaurant. It is statistically not the safest of endeavors. However, because of our experience, abilities and connections we are uniquely suited to overcome the obstacles that trip up most restaurateurs.
Because we are willing and able to work the lion's share of the labor hours ourselves, we can drastically cut down on on the largest unavoidable expense in this industry.
Our collective experience, which covers nearly every facet of the service and hospitality industry, streamlines our procedures and eliminates the guesswork associated with a new business.
Lastly, the fact that we have been here, working in the industry for so long, has netted us countless contacts, customers and friends. All of which are eager to see us take a shot on our own and are helping to create a buzz surrounding the opening.
