Circuit Breaker is a casual strategy game that can be played solo or with up to two other friends. All players attempt to successfully re-wire their own houses in time for a hastily scheduled house party, and will score points by connecting a variety of quirky electrical doodads to their home circuits. Resource management and a crafty rodent will be put to use in a fun and cheeky race to be the most 'happening' place on the block.
(Note, we have hired out for a professionally written rule book. By the time you get Circuit Breaker, the rules will be much easier to understand.)
Rules at a Glance
- Shuffle all appliance tiles and wire tiles separately. Lay them face-down.
- Set the party favor tiles (1-4) out near the stacks of wires and appliances. Separate the party favor cubes and place on their corresponding tiles.
- Give each player their starting materials.
On your turn, in any order
- Trade: Players may trade an appliance from their hand with the deck once per turn.
- Buy: Players may purchase either a wire tile or a party favor cube using the dice available.
- Place: Players may connect up to 2 tiles per turn to their electrical grid.
- Mouse: Players may move their mouse by rolling an active die down by 2 (ex - 3 rolls down to 1). That die must be used to purchase either a wire or a party favor during the same turn.
Ending the game
Circuit Breaker plays over 4 rounds. At the end of the last round, scores are tallied, and the player with the most points wins the game.
*Team Circuit Breaker requires 2 copies of the game.
The Dynamic: Teams of 2 are formed. Teammates sit across from each other and find either verbal or nonverbal ways to communicate their appliance needs in order to maximize their score. Teammates also take their turns at the same time, and their scores are added together to form one score for the team. Careful not to let the other team(s) know what you're searching for, or they might just crash your party!
For each social goal completed, all backers will receive 3 new appliance tiles. Up to 18 new tiles possible with all social goals met.
Circuit Breaker has 3 different play modes: solo, 2-3 player, and team (if you and a friend each have a copy). Solo mode offers a unique challenge, and a choice between two victory conditions. 2-3 player mode is competitive and dynamic. Team mode gives players the ability to maximize team scoring by communicating with their teammate.

Since our printers are a short drive away for us, we are able to fulfill quicker and be more hands-on during the manufacturing process, ensuring that everything is exactly as we envision.

Risks and challenges
Circuit Breaker is our second board game to hit Kickstarter. We have learned an immense amount from our first experience and we're confident that we'll be able to produce Circuit Breaker. Our first game was delivered two months late, due to manufacturing delays. Since then, we have been working closely with our manufacturers to ensure that we can deliver Circuit Breaker on time. We anticipate that it will arrive in time for the holidays this year.
Since our printers are local, we are able to check on the status of the project as often as we feel necessary. We can more easily cruise through the proofing process & pick everything up in person as soon as it's ready.
