First of all, I want to thank all of the loyal listeners to Season 1 of Up and Vanished on the disappearance of Tara Grinstead. Tara's story is a tragic one, but I feel that beneath all the heartache in this case, there’s a silver lining. A hope that this case, and others like it, CAN be solved. And that the truth is out there, you just have to dig deep enough to find it. I’ve also learned that I enjoy searching for that truth, and I enjoy making a podcast about it. And once Season 1 on Tara Grinstead comes to a close, I want to continue this journey with another unsolved case - applying everything that I’ve learned from Tara’s case.
I plan on making a Season 2 of Up and Vanished, on a new unsolved case. But in order to launch a successful new investigation its going take both time and money. And that’s where you come in. With your help, we can assemble the resources to tackle a new unsolved case right from the very beginning.
Getting an early jump on season 2 will mean that we can take our time with preliminary investigations on several unsolved cases, and choose the the most compelling one. With this lead time, we will be able to do early photo and video shoots for a new trailer, and produced episodes in advance, allowing us to deliver them to you earlier and on a consistent basis.
Risks and challenges
Season 1 provided us with several challenges, many of which were production and resource based. In spite of that, we pulled off a very successful podcast, especially considering it was my first podcast ever. I am approaching season 2 with all of the lessons learned over the past 6 months. Your funding will help reduce or eliminate the production/resource challenges by staffing UAV with editors, producers, investigators, etc. We plan on wrapping season 1 by the Fall of this year, and debuting season 2 in late 2017 or early 2018. I will keep you in the loop every step of the way, updating you on the case that we select and sharing some initial investigation details.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
