When most people today hear the name Wyatt Earp, they think of Hollywood and stars like Kevin Costner and Kurt Russell. But those movies end where our story begins, after the famous "Gunfight At The OK Corral," for which he's most famous. Did you know that after leaving Tombstone, Arizona, America's most famous lawman roamed the American West for nearly fifty more years in search of his fortune and glory?

It's true! After swearing off a career in law enforcement, he was a saloon owner, a horse racer, a card dealer, a gold miner in Alaska and even had a brief, but controversial career as a boxing referee! But everywhere he went, no matter what he did, he couldn't shake his famous reputation. And sometimes, a good reputation can be your worst enemy. The Further Travels of Wyatt Earp is a five issue full-color digital comic book series by me and artist Scott Koblish (Marvel Adventures, Wolverine: First Class, World's Finest) that looks at what Wyatt's life might have been like in those later years.
ISSUE #1: An unlikely claim-jumper gets Wyatt into trouble with a local gang of outlaws in the hills of Idaho.
ISSUE #2: When two competing boxing managers can't agree on a referee for their championship bout, they turn to Wyatt Earp, the ultimate arbiter of justice. Or so they think!

Risks and challenges
Unfortunately, there are many costs associated with producing a comic book, and that's where you come in. The funding goal at the top of the right-side column represents the total cost of producing the first TWO installments.
Not one penny of that funding goal will go to me. Most of it will go towards compensating the hardworking men and woman who are taking time away from their real jobs and families to help me realize my dream. Part of is also to cover the costs of digital distribution and marketing, which sounds cheap since there is no paper involved, but it still costs real money if we hope to sell to anyone other than my mom and dad. And even they aren't guaranteed sales (Mom won't buy it unless I promise to visit more often.)
Part of it is also to cover the cost of some of the great pledge rewards that you see to the right of this text. Remember, since this is a DIGITAL comic, the only way to get a print copy of the book in the foreseeable future is to help us out as one of our Kickstarter backers! And it'll be a special Kickstarter edition of the book with bonus content that you won't see anywhere else. It just for YOU, the members of our team!
I was never a fan of westerns growing up; I've only recently discovered them, actually, so this type of a book is very much out of my comfort zone - which is exactly why I HAD to go for it. And as a fan of American history, I think Wyatt Earp is one of our greatest characters, and am looking forward to the opportunity to add to his legend. But I can't do it alone! So get your mustache on and let's go on this ride together!
