Masterprint Collection 2018
This year we'll bring you the first Full Masterprint Experience on Kickstarter. This means you'll be able to get every 2018 Masterprint release through pledging this Kickstarter.
The Masterprint collection is the series of games Quined Games has been publishing since 2006. The main purpose of publishing these Masterprints is to offer our customers games with a luxurious feel. The first four games in this series were reprints of existing games. Thereafter, newly developed games were added to the series and the year 2018 is no exception to that. As you can see, this year we will publish both a reprint (Firenze) and brand new games like Raiatea and Counterfeiters.
We have some very nice Stretch Goals that add even more content and variation to both Raiatea and Counterfeiters. For Raiatea, unique new Ritual cards will be added to the game and for Counterfeiters, Action Improvement cards will be introduced to the game.
For a complete read through of the rules, you can click the "Download the rules" banners per game. If you don't have that much time, you can have a look at the shorts we produced to get a good idea of the gameplay for Raiatea and Counterfeiters.
Players act as members of the Arioi, a secret Polynesian religious society. Over the course of the game, the Arioi will build colossal To’o statues in attempt to win the favor of their god, Oro. In the game’s action rounds, players will take turns leading the group to various action locations. In ceremony rounds, players will call upon the gods for help in building the massive To’o. Construction may fail without these gods’ help, so players must plan their Rituals carefully and know how much mana to sacrifice in order to accomplish their goals. At the end of the game, the player who has collected the most victory points will guide the group as their new High Priest!
In the following sections you can see some shorts about the gameplay.
In a regular round you get to choose from 6 different location tiles that each have their own actions linked to it.
These regular rounds are used to gather resources by trading, forraging and developping your different ranks. You can also draw ritual cards.
Which you will be using in the Ceremony round, alongside your mana reserves.
At the end of each Ceremony round, players will be able to construct the To'o statues. Each tile has a different prerequisite and you have to be quick to fulfill them before someone else gets a chance to take it.
Be smart and gather those tiles. By gathering the most VP's you'll be crowned the high priest of Raiatea.
And that's how to play Raiatea. We've also recorded a more in depth overview of the game, where you will be taught what the location tiles bring the players and provide you with a complete look of what's in the box. Check it out below:
For a Full playthrough video you can check out this video produced by Jon Gets Games.
Players act as Counterfeiters, printing fake bills and exchanging them for the real thing. The Godfather can help them avoid the police, but his protection comes at a cost… The game ends when the police complete their investigations into the counterfeiting industry; the winner will be the player with the most ‘real’ (non-counterfeit) money!
In the following sections you can see some shorts about the gameplay.
The goal of the game is clear, but how do you achieve this?
By placing your henchmen on the board you can conduct various actions. But be on guard, the police pawn will cross your plans in multiple ways.
Don't fret, the money in your offshore bank account will be safe!
And that's how to play Counterfeiters. We've also recorded a more in depth overview of the game, where you will be taught all the various actions your henchmen can perform and a complete look of what's in the box. Check it out below:
In the Florence of the 12th-14th centuries, the city’s powerful and influential families don’t just compete with each other in trade and politics. They also try to outdo one another by building tall, mostly squarebased tower homes as status symbols. In this game, you are master builders working on the families’ construction commissions for such towers. You build the towers from different-colored bricks you receive from the game’s cards. But be careful: once you’ve started construction on a tower, you must keep erecting it every turn, or it will be torn down as abandoned construction. Pay attention to other players’ projects, so that they don’t snatch commissions you were counting on right from under your nose! You receive Prestige Points for completed commissions. Whoever has amassed the most Prestige Points by the end of the game wins.
Firenze probably needs less of an introduction, since it was already released back in 2010, was well rated but never became widely available. Firenze finally gets its long-awaited reprint, funded through Kickstarter. Please find the most prominent changes that were made in comparison with the 2010 edition below:
Some minor additional changes include another type of cotton bag, the games' title on the back of the player boards and the formerly called "Bridge" card now being honorably called "Ponte Vecchio".Fully language-independent through the use of simple yet elegant iconography on the games' cards. Naturally, iconography overviews are available, two cards per player per language.
- The box contains rules and card overviews in the four languages that we are used to; English, German, Dutch and French.
- The player boards include an overview of the phases in a turn. Some are mandatory, some are optional. This has all been listed down on the player boards in the same easily understandable iconography.
You can pledge for individual games or pledge for the whole bundle containing all of our three new releases. Pledging for this bundle will offer you the best price on these games.

Arno, founder of Quined Games many years ago. Thanks a lot for developing it into what we see today!
Paul, general manager at Quined Games. He is the main organiser of this Kickstarter page. Trying to get all the things together and present you all these great games. It took me hours & hours of planning and organising.
Max, editor at Quined Games. He produced the pledge levels, calculated shipping costs and will support answering backer questions. He will also send out all EU and Rest of the World parcels once we get to that point.
Konstantin supported us with many banners and graphic stuff. Also a shout out to Rafaël for building these awesome how to play shorts!
Erik van Katerborg is responsible for the kick-ass intro movie, with help from a professional voice actor this little gem came out perfectly. Let's just hope the humor didn't go past everyone.
Music in the intro-movie from Bensound.com titles <Epic>.
Why do we use Kickstarter?
Although we are a renowned board game publisher, we still need the help of the community sometimes. Since 2015 we have had the help of the Kickstarter Board Game community, with a single campaign per year. This year, we try something different by offering all our Essen releases through Kickstarter. It is a bit of our dream to have a Masterprint style Kickstarter. So let's make this dream come true!
Risks and challenges
Quined Games has been in the board game business for more than ten years now. Arno has years of experience within the industry, which gives him first hand insight in the do's and don'ts. We are giving our 100% to make this our best Kickstarter Campaign.
Our last Kickstarter Campaigns were handled with care and we delivered the products as we promised. This campaign WILL deliver when we reach our goal. We know that even if we don't make it in time, the most important part is that we stay in touch with the backers and be transparant.
I myself (Paul Mulders, yes I am still behind the Quined Campaigns) will keep close contact with the fans & backers from the start of this campaign. I have learned from all the little mistakes from the last campaigns I did, and will improve because of that. This time I am even more prepared.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
