BOOK SYNOPSIS: This is a self-help book based on the true life story of the author, a recovered addict, who has faced criminal, legal, economical and social problems during his life in the U.S. and what measures he took to get himself back on track and become successful and stable again. This is a very helpful 30 Day Plan with specific steps of recovery for each day for a month. If followed it will help those facing drug and other addictions and lack of motivation or other serious diseases reclaim their life and their sobriety one day at a time.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Lakhinder Jit Singh Vohra, M.S.J. received his bachelor’s and master’s from Delhi University’s Hansraj College in 1989 and went on a Rotary Foundation Scholarship to obtain his second master’s in journalism from Northwestern University. He has worked for leading Indian and US-based newspapers and magazines. He has been sober from addictions since 2013. He has been arrested a few times and was fired from many jobs due to his addiction and relapses. His arrests have made front-page headlines in all tabloids in New York City. As part of his recovery outreach, he has interacted first-hand with hundreds of addicts suffering from a variety of addictions and he has also worked with the homeless population in Jamaica, Queens in New York for a leading non-profit agency. He has interacted first-hand with survivors of abuse, as well as family members of addicts and met with leading psychiatrists, therapists and court appointed clinicians in Washington, DC, New York, Las Vegas and San Diego, California in the US and from the PGI in Chandigarh, India.

TARGET AUDIENCE: Youth, Drug addicts, alcohol addicts, other addiction victims, schools, universities, de-addiction clinics, recovery centers, hospitals, charitable organizations, life and recovery coaches, medical community, psychiatrists, psychologists, grief counselors, pain management specialists, healers, government agencies involved in tackling addictions and other mental illnesses.

DISTRIBUTION STRATEGY: Book will be distributed at nominal or free of cost with the financial grant requested herewith to cover such costs to aforementioned agencies.

COPIES PRINTED: First Run of 5,000 (1,000 copies in hardbound 4,000 copies in paperback). The book is expected to be a best-seller in India and the US with additional second and third-run printing.

SPONSOR BENEFITS: The goal is to highlight a specific practice at your institution or the success in this field as accomplished by your organization and to generate new business in the said field for your concern or to raise awareness on such issues.

1. Listing in book as follows: “This guide is made possible due to a generous financial grant by __________________________.” This will also be followed by a logo of the organization, full business details of the organization with phone number etc. This will appear at the bottom of the back book jacket as well as on one of the interior pages of the book as well. To maintain the editorial sanctity of the book, it is recommended that no fullpage ads be included so it does not appear as an advertorial and is an independent book.

2. Listing of your logo in all brochures, life-size banners, website and other marketing materials associated with this book.

3. Full mention on all promotional materials, such as press releases etc that will be distributed to Indian and US media through PR Newswire etc.

4. A book launch event to be held at your location with a panel discussion on the topic featuring your esteemed staff with Q&A on the issues raised by the book and the expertise provided by your organization or to highlight your success in tackling such issues.

5. Distribution of all your promotional materials as it pertains to the subject at all events in India and USA.

6. FIRST RIGHT OF REFUSAL to sponsor additional books written or co- authored by the author on the issue of mental illness and addictions. If sponsor is not interested then advise will be sought on other parties to be contacted. This does not pertain to two others books currently in development on sales and adult fiction dealing with mental illness.

7. EXCLUSIVITY: With regard to this book, the author will not promote another entity of any kind as a sponsor. This is an exclusive agreement with you.

8. 100 Copies (10 hardbound and 90 paperback) to be distributed to you.

9. FOREWORD: If suitable, and a renowned person in this field is available

through you, a foreword to the book can be arranged to be published at the

beginning of the book.

10. FRONT OF THE BOOK CREDIT: The person providing the FOREWORD will

receive prominent name positioning and affiliation (based on space

availability).

11. BOOKMARK: This is a very unique marketing opportunity. A tastefully-

designed bookmark promoting your institution will be created and included in every book which will be a further branding of your institution and a subtle way to market your book. It can be one-sided or two-sided.

4 Book signing and presence at Top Literary Festivals such as International Book Festival in Berlin, Jaipur Literary Festival, Hamptons Book Festival in Hamptons, USA, Hay Festival, Cartagena, Colombia Big Bad Wolf Books Sale, Dubai, Chandigarh Literary Festival and other such events in North America.

Book is camera-ready to be published and will be printed and ready for distribution no later than Fall 2019 and the said promotions will last until March Fall 2020.
