@Dwayne I hope you get a empty box :p
Nothing else explains the silence and "delays" so well.
Here's a question: Will extra gamepads be available at retail launch? How much will they be? I ordered a KS-special, but I'm in love with the red and white ones as well. :D
Oh man, that video and those pictures of the dock and showing it all in action are getting me super excited!
Delays happen. I'm okay with that. At least you guys are being open and communicating about it. And so I can wait patiently, since, as a stakeholder, I'm informed. I've said it time and again, but this is a Kickstarter and Public Relations done correctly.
Thanks again guys! Can't wait to plug in!
It will be yet another disappointing day - Sep 23 when backers will flock to this site highly anticipating that perks will be delivered to their doorsteps.....I can almost guarantee that you will NOT receive the GS this month, not even on the first half of October. The lads over at Playjam have a business to run and quite frankly I don't blame them.....anymore ! Thanksgiving is coming up and traditionally thats when video game sales are the highest. Gamestop sees a good chunk of its business during this quarter and they've wagered big time on this venture being successful, more so that they probably control the production livecycle as part of the venture commitments struck up with Playjam.
You're still with me ? good, the more you start thinking like a business man the more things will make sense. So a week before November, the units will start trickling in, a week later they will be available at Gamestop just in time for the great American shopping season. The limited time between both releases will ensure negative reviews or complaints won't hamper sales and the rest will be history. There you have it folks, you can reference this post until that time you receive your perks and match it up with just exactly how this whole saga will play out.
Ok, ok, I'm trusting you ;D
The mic was very sensitive as you can tell from the sound you hear when Tim inserts the USB device. It feels good and has a reassuring click to it @~1:04.
Seriously?! Thanks for the video, but after watching it, that D-pad sounds awfully stiff! @~0:36 That thing sounds darn rigid. Here's hoping it's playable!
Y'know guys, as far as delays go, they're not too bad. I know some people who have been waiting for a game for almost two years now. Yes, I can agree that the lack of updates wasn't very positive as far as PR goes, but I think that the ends will justify the wait and $$ invested.
On another note. To the GaSt guys... What do you think about the Vita TV? I know you're an android based system, but do you see it as a potential competitor? From the looks of it, it's about the same size as the dock. Just wondering what your thoughts were.
Hello dear staff of Gamestick
I'd like to be refunded please .
@Liigo Zhuang - You better read the Kickstarter rules.. you are SOL buddy. There are no refunds.
No matter what. You will get it the GameStick. Some people havent gotten anything, other than scams from other places, who ran off with their money and never delivered.
Tim, who is in China right now, sent over a video last night showing the Dock working and running a movie from external storage which we thought you might enjoy.
Hi guys working on #GameStick:
My name is Liigo Zhuang, I would like to ask you refunding my bill for GameStick, because you have DELAYED delivering GameStick for over 5 months (from Apr. to Sep.). I have been waiting for it over 7 months since Feb., and I can not wait any more! Please cancel my order, and return my money back. Thanks.
I can't wait to get my gamestick, out of all the kickstarter rewards I have pledged for it is the one I'm most looking forward to.
@GameStick that looks great, "how does it work? Aliens"
Apologies - http://postimg.org/image/rvzv7gqx5/
@GameStick you linked the same two images twice...
Please can you contact us via the support tab on the www.gamestick.tv site as that will get you straight to Customer Services.
P.s. Hope the move goes well!
Hope we can get a few more free games out of this... it would be nice... just as a courtesy thing, since we have all been as patient as we possibly can. Especially with the lack of updates and replies (ie Facebook)
Hi! Thanks for the update but I am moving again..... Can I change the shipping adress?
Some have asked for photos of the Dock - happy to oblige:

Josh and Marc - thanks for your positive support. We're happy to hear you understand the nature of this project!
We're so excited to get you guys the GameStick. :D
Thanks for the feedback. :D
wow. people are getting pretty upset about this delay, honestly, I've been waiting for some silly damn pairs of socks that were supposed to be delivered October of 2012, and this is a consumer electronics device that even after all this time still feels like a steal at $109 (yer not gonna let us down, right?!), landing less than ten months after I put money down on it. Product design is exciting but time consuming, I think it's pretty amazing what you've learned, and cool to see it coming to fruition. It's unfortunate that some birthday parties may have been missed, but I'd rather not have some flexy bit of plastic that snaps in half the first time I get frustrated in a game, and if that's what the re-tooling gained us, I'm all for it. Thanks for being open with your mistakes early on, and doing your best to make us proud.
I was worried from the original 3D mockups but picked the KS colorway and seeing that image up there I'm really happy I did. I'm excited to have the thing, and pretty anxious to see how the software side is panning out.
Thanks for the update and keep up the good work to release a great product, not some mediocre half-assed rush job. While I'm a little disappointed that I'm not receiving it this month, I know that in the end, this will be something worthwhile, something that I'd be proud to have backed.
Question about the Ethernet: I am getting a dock, so I'm wondering, is it possible to hook up the dock using Ethernet, such that I don't have to use WiFi? I'm really not a fan of WiFi at all, and though I am able to set my network up to use it, I'd rather not if I can avoid it. Is there a way to set up your connection as wired only with Gamestick?
As a backer I totally get that you have to take your time to arrive with the best possible product on a competitive market like the micro-consoles one. And I think we all prefer to get a well made and perfectly functional product in october rather than a rotten one in April.
Well, now (or at least very soon) would be the perfect timing to have a real big game update! Don't you think?
Is it too late to change color choices?
We have tracked your question down and forwarded to our technical guys. Our initial assessment is that you would require both the GameStick and the sending device to be on the same network for this to work - I certainly have not seen anything slung to the screen in the office other than via a shared network. I have seen a movie sent via Airplay using XBMC but right at this minute, only via iTunes and only when both devices share the same network.
If we hear any differently, we will revert directly.
Also very happy that you reiterated backers get the product before retail. Unlike some other projects I've regretfully backed.
Hi gamestick team, thx for the update, i too was getting a little worried, but with huge projects there will be delays, just keep us informed if you want? p.s. I see that people are now getting active response, any thought on my question I posted in earlier updates?? (e.g. using the gamestick / hdmi dongle as an wireless receiver for mirroring phone/tablet screens and wifi independed... if this can be accomplished this would be a certain hit in educational sectors where I work in/e.g. lcd projector combination)
Awesome to hear from you guys! Like everyone, anxious on getting my hands on that sexy looking Kickstarter edition of the Gamestick :D. I like that clarification of us getting the product before the masses, thank you. Can't wait for it!!
Finally happy to see an update, slightly apprehensive about the button colors (look kinda grey from here).
That little tidbit of using a 1TB drive connected with the video player is a pleasant surprise.
Will we see a final ui demo with the controller app running on a phone or tablet?
The Kickstarter controller looks boss, sweet, wicked, awesome, slick, legit et al.
It's a standard HID controller so it should do, yes.
Finally an update :D
Can you also provide the picture of the dock?
btw, are the thumb buttons color will be grey as seen on the picture above?
the kckstarter edition color seems weird boecause of those two ...:S
but nevertheless, thanks for the info! :)
Thanks for the thorough update, looking forward to playing with this.
So yet another delay? i thought you guys had this worked out. i guess ill have to be looking for a new birthday present for my daughter now.
I had a thought. Will the controller we comparable with Desktop computers via Bluetooth.( I'm running windows 7.)
Yours will actually ship direct from China with duties paid. (painfully for us ;) ).
We're hoping to get the Dock out in the same shipment but it may follow a few days later. We should be able to post a picture soon.
Which "depot" will my GameStick ship from? (I live in Indonesia). I ask this because there's heavy customs duties (around 40%).
Great update!! This kind of communication is what this community wanted. Just be sure to keep us in the loop please.
Thanks for the update will the dock and case be shipped on the same day?
Are there any photos of these?
Is there any update on the xbmc development and it's availability on release date?
We were at the GameStop Store Manager's conference a couple of weeks back which included a day open to the public. It was an amazing experience to see people interact with the final product, albeit just 3 units off the golden sample run.
My personal favourite moment was a group of kids, (guessing 10/11 year olds) that had been taken out of school early and driven up to Arizona for the event, (clearly to see Xbone and PS4), but they stopped at our little stand on their way out and saw the stick dangling from the back of the TV and asked for a go. They then argued over the controller for 40 minutes until they had to go.
It sounds corny but it was a great moment for us. Long story short - they loved the controller!
Here's to hoping the shipping date you told us in this update stays that way....because I've been waiting to feel what the gamestick controller feels like in hand rather then guessing if its made of cheap plastic or not
I'm sure I will!
Thanks for responding. ;)
ok a update on a delay...thats fine again
but what about the lack of someone here from gamestick to answer the many many question in the comment section
and the lack of comments by gamestick the last one was on August 15 th and the last update was August 16
"GameStick launch pushed once more, now arrives on October 29th"
is this true on Amaon,,,This item will be released on October 29, 2013.
on Gamestop...Release Date 9/30/2013
on Game...Released on Sept-2013
please answer the question in the comment section
@David, this is not a new business, only a new product line for their company.
@Gamestick, thanks for the update, though it's upsetting to have the lack of communication we had dealt with for the past month, the upfront info about the current state of production/delivery is appreciated. On a side note, I submitted a request for Dev access as well as an inquiry to your support team nearly 2 weeks ago and have yet to see a response hit my email. Can you help me out with that? Thanks! :)
Looking forward to getting all my GS gear!
I'm happy with this update. I would rather have a finished and polished product than some lame piece of plastic. Ive just read the post re. the dock and a 1tb hard drive and I'm starting to get a tad excited. I would like more regular updates but one things for sure, the wait increases anticipation.
