TL;DR: 24 doors hiding 24 physical gifts alongside an exclusive Module to download that uses many of the calendars' contents! This includes exclusive metal miniatures commissioned for the calendar, game aids and so forth.
The calendar front features stunning artwork with a developing cartoon style story and internal pictures behind ever door that further expand on the adventurers journey. Every calendar ships with a poster version of the cover art for when you've torn the doors off!

"In a hole in the ground there lived a hobbit...…"
So last Christmas myself and the goblins were sat around the table playing the first session in our Christmas DnD Campaign, when one of them opened up his Advent Calendar and popped the resulting chocolate into his mouth.
"Dad" he said, round the chocolatey contents of his goblin maw, "wouldn't it be cool if there was a DnD Advent Calendar?" and so an idea was born.
Luckily I'd just completed a 28mm mini design project with some really talented 3d sculptors so I got right onto one of them - the hugely talented Andre de Souza. Once he'd got over me disturbing his Christmas Day he readily agreed to sculpt for the project.
The art work was a little bit more tricky - I had a clear view of what I wanted: a calendar that told a classic dungeon crawl story, and the style of art I was looking for (reminiscent of the 1980's Dungeons and Dragons cartoon and the old "Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe" cartoon film that used to be shown every Christmas here in the UK). I really struggled to find an artist who could do it justice - and was on the point of giving up when the talented Randall Hampton was recommended to me.
Randall was so great - he needed virtually no direction and built the story around the advent calendar door layout brilliantly. It was his idea to have another image inside every door, showing what happened to the adventurers as they stepped through the portal, dropped through the trapdoor etc! And of course the last scene had to have them fighting a dragon.....
Myself and the goblins got together a list of things that we'd like to see in a 5e Advent Calendar and I asked other role players what they'd look for..... it was good, but it lacked something: cohesion. I really didn't want the calendar to just be full of unrelated but cool stuff for 5e, but wanted them to hang together somehow. Then one of my regular groups came up with the solution: a custom Module written to go alongside the calendar and using many of the components inside. Since I write pretty much all Homebrew stuff I rolled for damage as I face palmed.....
Next came the less exciting stuff - sourcing a printer for the calendar, approving stl. files and so on - months of it - but finally, in April 2019, we are ready to launch: requiring only production costs so that the calendars can hit your mats in time for Christmas 2019. Risks and challenges
Its key that we hit our timescale so that the calendars are delivered in plenty of time for onward posting before Christmas: so the sooner we hit the target (which represents the minimum order requirement for the project to run) the sooner we can start the casters, printers and so forth rolling.
