About this project
Ok, at first glance Kickstarter seems like the easy way out.. a tool for artists/musicians to ask for charity. That's what I thought and I resisted. But after taking a closer look at what our good friends in Sunbears did I realized its part of the evolvement of this wacky industry. Ten years ago all you needed was a record label to sign you and then everything was taken care of. They gave you the money to record. They paid for a publicist. They sent you out on tours, etc. But thangs done changed!!! Now people warn you of the dangers of labels and most of the time when you do get signed they are not likely to chuck out the kind of money that it takes to properly push an album out of a warranted weariness of a market that doesn't BUY records anymore.
In a way it comes full circle. Fans barely purchase albums anymore. They download them from blogs or torrent sites. Its not some horrific crime... its just the result of a saturated market and the lovely world wide web. But if fans won't buy the records then bands won't have the means to make them... in turn, it is now falling back on music lovers to help make these records exist. Kickstarter is one of the first to realize this and has made it classy in my opinion.
We will make worthy prizes and include everybody in the process of recording our first full-length album. And with your support we can make it happen and keep working with all we've got towards a dream of playing music for more and more people and growing the Le Blorr family as big as the world lets us.
in advance, Thank you. It means the world to us.
