We made our goal! Thank you for supporting Miskatonic University! We're excited to get to work finishing this film.
As of this post we have 24 hours left to make our stretch goals. Here they are:
1) If we make $10,000 we can afford to do an underwater shoot. Yes that's right... we will take our camera and our actors and put them underwater. The shots are not crucial to tell the story, but they will make this movie SO MUCH COOLER.
2) If we make $12,000 we'll be able to show MORE Shoggoth. You can never have enough Shoggoth. Have we already given away too much? Well, let us put it this way... CGI is expensive.
Please consider pushing Miskatonic even further into the realm of awesome.

It has been a journey akin to H.P. Lovecraft's Dreamquest of Unknown Kadath. Save starting a war with the Cats of Ulthar and battling Night Gaunts, we've done it all.Since September we have traveled across the northeast to shoot on locations for our short film Miskatonic University. We've been to the backwoods of Maine, to a gloomy Franciscan Friary in upstate New York, a mysterious waterfall in the Hudson valley, a glorious neo-gothic library and two beautiful college campuses. We've rented countless vehicles, vintage costumes, handmade props, period furniture and one impressively ship-shape Model A Ford.
Through our journey we have shot hours of digital film, with several talented actors and hardworking thankless crew members. We have storyboarded, green screened and sound recorded with the help of artists, designers and volunteers.
Miskatonic University has come far, but the journey is not over.
In November super-storm Sandy hit the eastern seaboard and devastated several coastal communities, including one of our locations, Fort Tilden, which has been closed indefinitely. The parking lot adjacent to the beach is a massive landfill for destroyed houses from Breezy Point and access for vehicles is restricted. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the victims of the storm and we hope for a robust recovery.
Despite the setback, we have found a new location at Jones Beach and are proceeding towards finishing the film. But we need your help.
First a little background. Miskatonic University is a cosmic horror short film written with a cliff-hanger. It introduces Professor Thomas Highland, a World War I veteran, who comes to the fictional town of Arkham, Massachusetts carrying with him a dark curse. Upon his arrival, his mysterious dreams and visions get the best of him, and we soon discover that not all is as it seems at Miskatonic.
The script is based on the writings of famed "weird fiction" author H.P. Lovecraft and though set in his worlds, the story is wholly original.
The intended purpose of the short-film is as a launching point for something bigger... a feature film or even a web or television series. We would like to submit our project to the New York Television Festival, as well as several other traditional film festivals.
Will your generous support, we can make this film a reality. Think of it this way:
$10 will cover lunch for a crew member
$25 will pay for all the fake blood. Seriously... we need blood.
$100 will pay our stunt man to choreograph.
$150 will pay for graphic design and promotion.
$200 will cover lighting equipment rental.
$300 will help with post-production facilities fee.
$500 will cover the costs for costume rental.
$1,000 will pay for our sound designer, mixer and editor.
We hope you can join us in being a part of bringing H.P. Lovecraft's vision to life.

Risks and challenges
As stated above, weather can get the best of anyone, let a lone a film shoot.
We always knew a rainy day might delay the shoot, but we never expected a natural disaster the likes of Sandy to come along and disrupt things so intensely.
We hope you understand that the logistics involved in any film shoot, large or small, are complicated and can lead to unique challenges. But be assure, we are up for the challenge!
