Altercation Magazine conducted over a decade worth of interviews with the rock underground, culminating in the 'Altercation Archives'.
Altercation Magazine was initiated in New York in 1999, born out of frustration with the lame coverage of mainstream music magazines. For the next dozen + years JT and Donna Habersaat would forge a highly respected brand within the punk and indie community, interviewing and photographing literally hundreds of dynamic performers including Modest Mouse, The Pixies, Tom Waits, PJ Harvey, The Melvins, Joan Jett, Bright Eyes, and many, many more.
Long in the works, the 'Altercation Archives' finally presents the definitive word from Altercation Magazine. Featuring all new behind-the-scenes intros and details on each chapter, JT Habersaat compiles in-depth conversations with some of the most legendary performers in all of pop culture, including Henry Rollins, Fugazi, Bill Idol, Stiff Little Fingers, Joan Jett, Avail, Misfits and dozens more.
Also included is a special section containing interviews with underground comedians such as David Cross, Patton Oswalt and Doug Stanhope, a complete oral history of the Dropkick Murphys, and previously unreleased interviews with Dead Milkmen, Against Me!, Weird Al and Robert Englund (Freddy Kreuger)! All tied together with many rarely seen performer photos from Donna Habersaat.
