We are hoping you guys can help us with the final step in getting our food truck on the streets. We are working with some great local artists for a really cool custom paint job on our truck! and we need your help, anything you can do will get us closer to this goal. We dont want a standard vinyl wrap! we really want our truck to stand out from the rest, by using local artists to create something very special!
For seven years, you've seen us on Allen Street--our old spot next to Nietzsche, our place across from the Pink, at 5AM for hot dogs and at 5PM for a Po Boys. Now, we're bringing your favorites from the Lagniappes and Lucky Dogs menus to the streets of Buffalo-- bringing a little piece of New Orleans to wherever you're at.
Whether you order the Blair's bacon burrito dog, a big bowl of gumbo or one of our famous New Orleans Po Boys, your sure to be in for a treat!
Now our new location in the West Side of Buffalo is perfectly set up for a food truck operation as well as take out and delivery! We hope to serve you from this location for many years to come.
Some folks might say I am against food trucks..This is just not true! There are two sides to every story and I hope you take the time to hear my side. Please feel free to contact me anytime to discuss my views and opinions. Anyone who knows me will tell you the same.
One of my first jobs many years ago was on the city's first food truck! It was called the "Lunch Box" .. I have also owned Hot Dog Carts for years, I raised the funds to open my first location with my Hot Dog carts. I have always been a fan of street food and have experienced it all over the country over the last 27 years.
We have started work on our own food truck but in the last few days we have secured financing on a bigger, better truck! This truck is beautiful and will offer some really cool options until now unavailable in the area! Please see the video for it above. With the help of my daughter I am currently adding audio to the video. Please check back in a few days!
We need your help to second line through the streets of Buffalo. We'll cook you dinner, cater your party and even take you gator hunting and down to New Orleans... all you have to do is show us a little kickstarter love! Laissez les bons temps rouler!
Risks and challenges
I have been cooking for 26 years and open with my own place for 7 years..There is risk for any new business especially when food is involved. I feel the fact that we are still open and serving great food is proof that I can overcome obstacles and achieve my goals.
Over the last 7 years on average I have worked 100 or more hours a week to achieve my goals and run a successful restaurant.
The second year I was open I had 2 emergency surgeries, one for a hernia and the other was for a gallbladder. Both times I was forced to close for several days over a couple of weeks. This hurt the business, but I got through it.
During our third year open I went through a very painful and emotional divorce. In our fifth year I want through a terrible custody battle for my daughter, anyone who knows me will tell you that Leah is the most important thing in my life!
This past year I battled and beat cancer! I am not telling you guys this stuff for sympathy, I am trying to explain what was happening in my life that might have affected business hours and consistently being open when I was supposed to be.
I overcame all these obstacles and I am still serving you food today! I intend to be serving you great food for many years to come.
Please help me accomplish this goal and be directly involved in helping a small local business in your neighborhood!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
