I would just like to thank you for creating the Roost Laptop Stand! Been using it ever since I received it, March 2016 here in Abu Dhabi, UAE. I really have been enjoying it, my laptop set-up is not complete without Roost! I've also been approached by people asking about the Roost when I work in the cafe. :) It's something you think you don't need until you get one! Thanks again for creating this awesome product!
My desktop computer quit working so I set up my laptop with the Roost. Works great and no need to buy a new desktop. You saved me hundreds. Thanks for a successful KS project.

Asked about this a long while back, but are there still anything in the works for a bigger grip to hold thicker laptops? Obviously not the massive 2.5 inch thick desktop replacements, but even the latest Alienware 17" is 1.2" thick and that's not terrible given the power. It's barely doable with the rubber padding. If I remove the rubber padding then it holds ok, although not very comfortable with the bare plastic gripping at the laptop since it's got a soft touch coating.

Just wondering what happened. 2nd product I have backed on Kickstarter and 2nd product I have not received. Feeling foolish and duped. Ended up purchasing a similar product on Amazon. Is there any hope I will ever receive my order? Do you need additional info from me? I have not moved. Address is the same. Last time I checked in, James advised I would receive my order in December 2015. Would love to receive them by December 2016 for the holidays. Would be grateful for a reply. Thanks.

Out not curiosity I bought a cheaper imitation Roost-ish laptop stand called 'NEXTSTAND'.
While closed, it's 2 CM longer and 2cm wider than original Roost Laptop Stand.
The opening and closing isn't as smooth and fluid as Roost.
The material used isn't as solid as Roost. A little on the rubbery side. But it holds my thicker 15" zBook15 really well. Doesn't wobble.

First roost was defective after a few uses and the team and Roost were honest about it
Within about a day of e-mailing, another one was on it's way but the UK postal service, let me down, so they sent me another one (I hope they get the other one back) and I've got it.
This is how you do customer service, the team and James have been absolutely brilliant, thank you and best of luck with your devices and expanding the line up, lots of people have taken interest in this product since I've used it.
I'm thinking colours, iPhone holders, can you use it with an iPad (or other tablets)....seriously I'd back another campaign.

Got version 2.0 … thanks a lot. As pleasant to use as the original (which I kinda like more due to the metal frame and green color).
Removing the bands does make it work, but not because of it being too thick, it works because the lack of the bands do not make the grips want to go back to the original 'resting' position. With the bands on because of the curved top, there's nothing for it to hold on to and thus it slips out.
Unfortunately I don't think it is a matter of it being too thick, it is just that the curved top front edge (which is great for wrists by the way) doesn't allow the 'pivot grip' to have anything to really hold on to. So what I was wondering is if anyone had tried to use anything modified to get it to work. I will investigate removing the bands. I was wondering if I could put something on it for it to grip.

@Hector: for that lenovo, I don't think will fit the Roost out of the box. Others have had success with thick laptops by removing the elastic bands of the "pivot grips", this is allows for some more clearance in the gripping mechanism of the Roost, it looks a bit funny, but still very stable.

@hector Silva not sure if it counts, but i'm using the roost 2.0 with my Lenovo E540 at work everyday. what model notebook? is your notebook curved on the bottom edge or top edge of the section that 'hooks' into the roost?
Does anyone have any experience getting a notebook with a slightly curved front edge to work with Roost 2.0?

Enjoy and love the Roost; but mine may be slightly defective out of manufacturing spec.
Since it arrived, it has an issue where it will not open/close smoothly. It appears one of the legs that closes (back to front) into each other is misaligned or is warped. The other side is fine has no issue with the legs.
I was hoping this would be something that would resolve itself over time and use; but it has not. This issue still occurs and the leg does not close all the way (as compared to the other side which closes smoothly with no hiccups).
James, can you review this when you have a chance? I can provide photos also. If this simply a bad batch or if I could exchange, it would be greatly appreciated!a
